Is Chris Mara a part owner of The New York Giants?

NYRiese : 11/19/2017 11:03 am
An Internet search implies that he is only an emploee but with the last name Mara it’s hard to believe that he was left out of Wellington’s will.

And of course the true answer has implications regarding the thoroughness of the impending house cleaning.
I am sure that he shares some ownership...

and he is a big part of the problem. If the Giants fire Reese and Chris Mara's job stays the same, it will not be good
I don't think

he works for mo green and oversees the cocktail waitress program.
When Ann Mara was alive, she was the owner. John Mara was an employee

Chris Mara probably had the same status.

Now, I don’t think John Mara “inherited” the Team. He is still the employee who manages it. Probably a family trust. I would guess that Chris Mara’s status, and all the other Maras who work for the Giants are still the same - employees who also benefit from the trust.

That;s the problem with the front office- all Fredos and no Michaels.
He’s not firing his brother or Reese

Majority owners: The Mara family -- the 11 children of Wellington and Ann Mara -- own 50 percent of the New York Giants. Ann Mara was the widow of Wellington Mara, who along with brother Jack inherited control of the team from their father, Tim Mara, who founded the team in 1925. Ann Mara died in January. The oldest and most prominent of the 11 Mara children is John Mara, 60, who serves as the team's president and chief executive officer. The Tisch family owns the other 50 percent of the team. The late Bob Tisch purchased that 50 percent from Tim Mara, son of Jack Mara, in 1991. Bob's son Steve Tisch, 66, is the Giants' chairman and executive vice president.

And the 11 children include three who work for the Giants:

Ann Mara, sometimes referred to as "The First Lady of Football," also let her sons know how she felt. Three of them work in the Giants' front office. Along with John, Chris is the senior vice president of player evaluation and Frank is the vice president of community relations.

She used to like to remind John Mara that "you're an employee.'"

Wellington's ownership (and Ann's) is split between their children...I think there are eight. But John is the only one with decision making authority.

Chris! You broke my heart! You broke my heart!
Does anyone have any primary sources about this?

When Tim Mara sold his 50% stake in 1991-- for a whopping $75 Million with an M-- he presumably also sold his sister's stake as well. Was this with her consent or did she not have a choice?

Wouldn't the estate tax on the 50% stake of the Giants be on the order of 8 zeroes? Do the Maras have that sort of money?
I doubt NFL teams were worth that much in 1991 for estate

He is half responsible for Kate and

If he invested the $75 mil wisely he is probably about as well off as If he still owned the team still. $75 mil working for you over 26 years is no joke.
So the only way for a clean sweap of the FO is for
