bingo. i said on the other thread, i think as long as we stay top 3, we should be able to grab Darnold or Rosen going on strong assumption SF doesn't go QB.
*however* if any of these W's, or any potentially remaining, somehow save the jobs of anyone on this staff or the GM, then that's the real fear.

Yep. Also fuck the chiefs and their pretender asses just dying to lose at home in the playoffs behind an ugly Alex smith performance like this. Not to toot my own horn but I’ve never been a believer at any point with them and the hype this year.
Meaningless win. Hopefully won’t cost us too much. Don’t feel like getting into it with people genuinely stoked about today without the vision to see past this afternoon. If you’re happy right now good for you
I went to my first game at 3 years old. I’ve watched more football than 99% of the population, and yet I would have bet my first born that the giants would have lost today
Watch this game cost us a QB. That will be awful. If we have to sit through this shit all year, we deserve to get a top QB. I don't want games like today just making the rebuild even longer.
the Giants won, regardless of how it affects our draft position.
The wind definitely affected how the game was played, but it was still sloppy by both teams, coupled with questionable play calling.
Thought Wheeler was very good. He lost the edge a few times, but frequently turned his man. Flowers again also played well. The OL as a unit gets a game ball. Eli wasn't sacked.
Hard running by Darkwa.
D was stout, but there was again no pressure. Was it Casillas who had 15 or so tackles?
Wing punted well. Three inside the 20 IIRC. Several excellent holds.
If we can win some games and Flowers, Wheeler, and some other young guys get confidence, then it will really help us next season. The young guys we have improving and getting confidence helps us more than getting a draft choice 5 spots higher (for example).

roll the dice next year with Eli, and have Webb in the wings..from what I hear on this board, Webb is just as good as any QB coming out this year.. Maybe that stud OL will go a long way.. whats the point of taking a QB and have no line in front of them... ask David Carr how that worked.
or another option would be Mayfield or Jackson... Plenty of options... hate rooting for loses.. enjoy it.
so to speak . Take the win there won't be many more this season . We still need to blow this shit up defense showed
some pride . Flowers again held his own for all the bashing he is earning praise . Wish people would stop complaining about Manning he is still a gamer and he proved it .
Kelce is a tough guy to defend you go low he can jump over you take him high he can run you over .
Jackrabbit showed why he is one of the best in the game .
Snacks is a warrior . Collins we got 3 picks should have been four we zero TD's people knocking the defense needs to stfu ..

I think this is a good point. But, I also agree that having to watch a season like this should result in a top five pick that gives a chance at the best QB's coming out. In theory the Giants should not be picking that high very often.

It rarely works like that. How did the wins at the end of 2013 help us in 2014? How did the wins at the end of 2014 help us in 2015? RE: A clear TD for Lewis, cannot believe the call Â
2 wins hardly takes them out of draft position to get a quarterback if they want one.
Secondly, as bad a job as this coaching staff has done this season, in particular MacAdoo. If you aren't willing to give him credit for a win no one thought they had a chance of achieving, then you are not being fair.
For this team to come from the tumult and poor performances of the past two weeks, and play spirited as they did today, the Coach gets the credit, like him or not.
And yes, 6 more efforts like this, with a win against say the Cowboys and the Eagles,, and the Redskins, he might get to stay.
anyone who thought that is an idiot. This will likely be 4-12 / 5-11. Remember. We picked 4th in 2004.
Wait, you watched the team play on the field recently and then added in all of the injuries and thought there was no way they were going 1-15?
They got destroyed by probably the worst team in all of football last week.
Anyone who thins this team is going 4-12 or 4-12 is more of an idiot than someone who thought they would go 1-15.
This team sucks balls, today doesn't change it at all. The ineptitude of the chiefs today coming in here like it was a scrimmage is the only reason the Giants had a chance, that and the wind

Geez Mook, it was effort that cost games and bad coaching. 4-12 is not crazy any more than 1-15 would be. Personally, 4 wins is likely max because I doubt they play this hard again. But if they do they have a chance to win 2 more.
2-14 and win against a collapsing Chiefs team isn't saving anyone's job.
Giants aren't likely to lose more than the 9ers or Browns without a major absolutely quitting on the field. They are talented enough to win games against average teams.
If there is a QB the new GM desires he'll move it up and get him if necessary.

Glad they at least played with effort today.
That's why they are the Chefs, just when some people

That team started out 5-0, LOL.

and Giants came to play. Nice effort today. Win is always nice.
Game doesn’t go to OT if he makes the PAT. He didn’t redeem shit.
He got experience dealing with the winds at the Meadowlands
in November, not surprising. That was like a bad pitching wedge in golf. Live and learn they say.
Flowers has been playing at an Elite level for several weeks
Don't know about an elite level (still takes a few holding penalties to avoid sacks) but he has played a lot better and is at worst a passable left tackle now

It is totally reasonable to think they could win a game against the Redskins & Cardinals.
in the run game. I think Richburg has played his last snap with the Giants.
.
I wouldn't mind if they move on from Richburg, Jones is a RFA.
The young man Wheeler, held his own today.
Flowers has made some progress, slower than we would like,
but some progress...
Gotta be real proud the way the Giants played today... Â
you play to win. You coach to win. They played hard and with pride. I'll take it. Any chance McAdoo made the FG decision at end to give his rookie kicker a chance to win the game and build some confidence? Also nice to see Alex Smith morph back into Alex Smith.
I felt Lewis did not have possession when he was touched...
Also disagree on the PI against Engram.....while he did extend his hand, it was not a push off of the defender....it looked that way because he was breaking to the sideline while the defender went straight....
It's a small point but if Roasa made the extra point Â
The Chiefs likely don't kick their 3rd FG but go for it on 4h down. Maybe we hold and win in regulation but maybe they make it and score TD and we lose.
That's what I've been saying. This was not the year to be angling cor a QB and I wouldn't draft one just because we have a high pick. Top 5 pick doesn't automatically equal franchise AN.
That said, they are still fairly likely to be in position for 1 and maybe 2 of the top 3, plus Mayfield for sure. This will be interesting.
And I will say this...i don't care if they win every single remaining game. I still want the GM, HC, entire coaching staff, and a good portion of the scouting dept. gone.
that Rosas' missed PAT may actually be the reason we won? Had they been up 10-6 and a FG was no longer an option for the Chiefs, I keep getting this feeling they would have scored the TD. That said, of course, another missed kick by Rosas is a cause of concern.
He is a rookie, so some patience must be used. I wouldn't cut him now, as some people have been calling for, especially with the season already lost. But, I would, at the very least, have another PK in for competition in the off season.
Here's to hoping Wheeler plays the rest of the season Â
and progresses. With Flowers playing better each week, we may have bookend OTs for the next few years. They may not be the best, but if it is even a decent pair, they have more flexibility with the rest of the OL.
and possibly cost his team the game. A position player already threw one INT today and the wind was a problem. So, calling for a trick play with Kelce throwing deep may not have been the best decision.

The wind killed that PAT. I don't know if he got under it, but man that thing just died. Like hitting a 180 yard club on a 130 yard hole and it ends up short...
That was a grewat play on 4th and 6. And all day, he stood tall in the pocket and avoided the rush when it was there, including a nice run for a 1st down.

This was the worst coached game I've ever seen from an Andy Reid team.
have lost 4 out of their last 5 games and looking to be trending downward. i maintain that alex smith is a phony QB, propped up by andy reid and his system.

Eli would ve taken that team to the championship game.
And some of you are actually cursing the Giants out for winning too many games this year? Two!!! ??
They are gonna go 4-12 or so. That's a terrible win total. And some of you are gonna hang on every win and go nuts like the Giants just sabatoged their future with a negative performance. That's so unfair and this coming from someone who wants mcadoo fired and wants the first pick. We all do. But You guys don't get it. They can't NOT TRY! What the hell do you want?
If the Giants win 2-3-4 more games fucking deal with it. You can't lose on purpose and you can't not try or you will get your head taking off. Mcadoo and spags are coaching for their livelihoods. You wanna sulk fine but to actually blast the team is weak. And again, we're talking 2-8 here people not 4-6. This isnt dreaded middle ground territory here this is shit show territory. It's still a train wreck and probably stays that way.
As a team all areas did what was required to obtain a win. Now as a coach it’s hard not to shake your in disgust because if these guys want to perform they are very talented on defense. On offense the rhythm was good and I believe only one delay of game penalty. It’s not the coaches it’s these players who have to want to win on the field.
Changed my Sunday afternoon for the better. I agreed with the Lewis call. Good catch but no TD.
Me too. I thought it was quite obvious he was down by contact. They would have needed irrefutable evidence to rule it a TD. That evidence just wasn't there.

Overall, I agree. However, I'm not so sure about 4 wins. I'm assuming you think they'll beat Washington once and Dallas? Maybe, but there isn't a game on the schedule, with this team that I expect the Giants to win.
I'm with you, though, about the wins in general. It would be far worse to tank the season. More than any other sport, in football that gets people hurt. It doesn't really happen.
Plus, at this point forget the first lick. They've pretty much cemented that the best they can do is the 3rd pick, given the competition.
This team is still very bad. Giants got very lucky with the weather and the fact the Chiefs clearly didn’t come to play and take us seriously. Chiefs had no pass rushers in the game. No Hali or Bailey. Also had two other of their best defenders out.
They earned the win by simply coming to play. As I said I always love a win but let’s not pretend this changes anything about how ugly this team has been and behaved and the incompetence of the coaches.
I could see them giving a fight to the Cowboys in that game but there’s really no margin for error. Even the Raiders are a bad matchup problem for us even with their struggles. Even the last game of the year will be a needed game now for the Skins to have any playoff shot.
I think they win one more game, possibly either the Cowboys or Cards game.
* Flowers continues to improve
* just 1 game, but Wheeler was encouraging.
* Jones improving, and battles
so, OL MIGHT not be as bad as we think going forward and letting both Richburg and Pugh go is plausible.
on the other hand:
* JPP sucks and is showing why paying him was a mistake and as Eric put it, he is a "coach killer".
* McAdoo still sucks, as does this offensive scheme.
* where were the trick plays, the calling out individuals for poor play, the despertation in Week 3 when it still mattered?
* the roster is still bereft of any talent at LB, DE (maybe Vernon excepted) RB. Gallman may be something, need to see more. Need more CB and S as well.
Though I can't "root to lose", I think the worst thing that can happen is that they finish strongly enough that Reese survives and McAdoo and staff aren't canned.
And some of you are actually cursing the Giants out for winning too many games this year? Two!!! ??

Yeah you're probably right but the Giants didn't look absolutely terrible yesterday and have no won two games out of the last five or so. With that in mind I could see them sneaking two more wins out of the remaining 6 but it's probably more likely they win one more.
Can we please beat Dallas and all but end their season? We aren't beating Philly...but Dallas has holes. It would be nice to see them come in to Jersey desperate for a win and have the Giants knock them out.
Gun to my head I'll say 4-12 but 3-13 is a good bet too. The Raiders aren't any good. Dallas as mentioned. Skins? I'd give them the edge in both games but they are flawed and just lost Thompson.
I've shifted my attention to Eli's well being and legacy. We're getting a good draft pick no matter what.
It will cost us a draft pick to move up and get a QB though
I like wins.
Have to see how they do rest of the year. Could still be very ugly. Weather played big factor today.
Hard to get excited about any of it. If this game saves anyones job or costs us a top QB that will be disgusting

Way overstated. Teams trade up all the time if there is a guy that is coveted.

Yeah that was expected but all in all he help up pretty well again a good DE
My guess is Chubb, but if its not a QB, I'd like to see a trade down to get more picks this year and next. This team has a lot of holes.
I want this entire thing blown up and the highest pick possible. Days like today don't help.
I bet you get your chance next week.
No, it doesn't.

they could easily win next week too. WAS blew a huge lead in NO and they are quitting on there coach too and a short week we have the momentum.
We could easily end with 5 wins now and could cost us 5 or 6 spots in draft position.
would be catastrophic and set the franchise back even longer!
not on april 26th comes and you are mad we are picking an eli apple instead of jake conklin...

He is a rookie, so some patience must be used. I wouldn't cut him now, as some people have been calling for, especially with the season already lost. But, I would, at the very least, have another PK in for competition in the off season.

The wind killed that PAT. I don't know if he got under it, but man that thing just died. Like hitting a 180 yard club on a 130 yard hole and it ends up short...
This was the worst coached game I've ever seen from an Andy Reid team.

you are right. I did not even notice that he was not there.
I noticed. I didn’t see a baby on the sideline asking for his pacifier.
Glad to see Rosas experience a pressure kick in OT
Carry on
Okay you win this thread. Hats off.
that is really interesting i never knew that until today. i like folklore.
The next Tom Brady is out there. So is the next Ryan Leaf.
Eli would ve taken that team to the championship game.
Complain when they win because win totals
Complain complain complain.

I'm with you, though, about the wins in general. It would be far worse to tank the season. More than any other sport, in football that gets people hurt. It doesn't really happen.
Plus, at this point forget the first lick. They've pretty much cemented that the best they can do is the 3rd pick, given the competition.

The way you can tell he wasn't on the field is there were no blown coverage assignments in the secondary...
Love these types of comments...
* just 1 game, but Wheeler was encouraging.
* Jones improving, and battles
so, OL MIGHT not be as bad as we think going forward and letting both Richburg and Pugh go is plausible.
on the other hand:

Two!!! ??

Overall, I agree. However, I'm not so sure about 4 wins. I'm assuming you think they'll beat Washington once and Dallas? Maybe, but there isn't a game on the schedule, with this team that I expect the Giants to win.
