... several rumors from Gainesville folks are indicating that an announcement is imminent. My son says the football players he knows are saying something's up.
I was thinking that UF should go after UCF's Scott Foster, but he might have his sights set on his alma mater, Nebraska. Kelly certainly has the wow factor that UF is seeking, if true.

Chip to Florida is interesting but that style isn't going to work against Alabama. It will put them in the SEC championship game in the weaker SEC East. Plus Florida will have to worry about probation down the line because Chip is on the NCAA's shit list
I meant Kelly to UF. I agree Foster is likely Neb bound. Would have preferred that UF go after Foster instead of Kelly, but I don't get to make those decisions.

Tell that to Clemson.
What? A chance to run your Alma mater's program - which just happens to be a traditional power with virtually unlimited resources?
No chance to win?
Have you been to the football complex in Lincoln? I have and it's insane. My uncle played there and it's a fucking paradise for football players. Holy shit what a dumb statement.
Nebraska's in the B1G, not the Big XII...but they would still be atop the B1G West with Wisconsin if they got back to their physical roots
Um. Over 5 years ago. May be longer. Nebraska is a very good job. Maybe not as highly thought of as it was back in the day but Frost would be dumb not to consider it regardless of other jobs he might supposedly be able to get in the future Gotta Hit while the iron is hot.

terrible job no chance to win. If he's smart he'll stay where he is for . a little while and then pick a job he really wants maybe an NFL job.

Nebraska is still one of the best jobs in the country...they just need to get the right people in place. They made a bad move joining the B1G though; no natural rivals like Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas there. Moving to the B1G cost them a lot of their Texas recruiting base where they got a lot of their best players
Just kiddin!
Among some people in the know, the feeling is that it wouldn't be surprising if Florida moved on from Chip Kelly.
They went to New Hampshire to visit Kelly with the university president and a pretty full contingent, expecting to get the deal done.
But Kelly put them on hold.
There are plenty of people at the University of Florida who want Dan Mullen and Scott Frost and know that more jobs will open up by the end of this week, so I can't see Florida waiting long.
And they're probably just plainly not liking that Kelly didn't finalize the deal with them today.
Now, of course, my BBS has me skeptical. But this is what I've been told by in-the-know types.

Interesting, and I hope true. I would prefer Frost or Mullen at UF over Kelly.
Mullen to FLA (he's sent feelers out before / ceiling in Starkville, FLA connections)
Frost to Nebraska (prodigal son)

Add Tee Martin to Tennessee and I think that's how it's going to go down

I think you have it right. I'm not kidding - if I'm Florida I bring in Larry Fedora of UNC. Don't be fooled by their record because they have been besieged by injuries and still play hard. They had Miami on the ropes 3 weeks ago with a makeshift offense. He can recruit and motivate.
