That's right, this season. More wins, please. The hell with you guys and your draft plans.

Man plans and God laughs.

yeah we're all jazzed up here tonite arent we.
You are not going to win
Doomster : 11/19/2017 10:27 pm : link
games scoring just 9 points....
Well, it could go either of two ways.
yatqb : 11/19/2017 10:28 pm : link
We win a bunch more and settle for someone like Nelson, or we lose a whole bunch and come out of it with Rosen or Darnold. If #1, we'd better hope that Webb is our future star at QB; if he's not, we'd better firm up that OL so we can run a heck of a lot.
Funny thing about that ...
baadbill : 11/19/2017 10:39 pm : link
what you want has zero impact upon what actually happens.

If #2, we'd better hope that Rosen or Darnold turns out to be more Peyton or Eli Manning and less Sam Bradford, JaMarcus Russell, Alex Smith, Carson Palmer, David Carr, Tim Couch, or hell, even Andrew Luck.

The draft is too much of a crapshoot to bank on one guy turning the franchise around. There's a reason that teams that pick high in the draft often wind up doing so every year.
8-8 if we win them all

If we were in the AFC, that might get us into the playoffs. (If the season ended today, Baltimore at 5-5 would be in.) But, 8-8 won't get you into the playoffs in the NFC.
The team scored a whopping 12 points

In 4.75 quarters of football. Now folks want to win more games? Let’s stop and reassess where this team is now and what’s best for the long term viability of the franchise.

I think 4-12 and a top 5 pick is realistic. Going 1-15 was not going to happen. Trading up happens all the time if there is a player that is coveted.
Top 5 pick will land a great player
Rjanyg : 11/20/2017 7:59 am : link
Every team needs great players and it doesn't necessarily need to be a QB. I understand Rosen, Darnold and even Mayfield seem like they should be the target for NYG, but I would be equally happy with Nelson, Barkley or Chubb. The best OL, RB and DL in the draft in a season where we need to sustain drives and hit the QB more.
Agree 100%

let's finish 8-8 ...nothing made me smile more yesterday than when I heard the "Let's Go Giants" cheer, from real fans that want to see our team win no matter what the circumstances are. LET'S GO GIANTS!!!!
you know I was a little disappointed in that the win does nothing for
Dinger : 11/20/2017 9:05 am : link
the long term picture. Jenkins showed up, Collins looked better and Snacks was his usual self. The oline was ok eli looked meh and I still don't know why we haven't brought in a new kicker. But to the OPs point screw the draft. The Giants will figure out a QB when the time comes and really what they need is to determine who's going to be on the team next year, and in the draft they need an ABUNDANCE of players. My hope is that they get rid of the GM at least and if they don;t replace Mcdont then MAKE him get new coordinators, just like they did with TC. Hopefully the incoming FO personell know how to draft OLineman. It can't be stressed enough, the game is fought and won in the trenches.
Arizona and Oakland are toss-ups
Ron Johnson : 11/20/2017 9:13 am : link
and they will be plying hard in the 4 division games.

I think they get 2 more wins.

Kind of off topic, but it is very hard to nail the HC hire. You were pounding the Adam Gase drum who looks like he may have lost his team. NYG need to be very careful at hiring another coordinator.

I’m surprised with what’s happened with Gase. I thought he’d be a solid HC. Meanwhile I was laughing at the Doug Pederson hire in Philly and all he’s done is coach what likely will be the team that finishes with the best record in the league...go figure.

I will say tho that if he gets canned in Chicago, I’m hoping the NYG do not fall for the trap of bringing John Fox back.

It would be “so Giants” of replacing McAdoo and Reese with Gettleman and Fox. I would be disheartened.
I saw a change in McAdoo’s attitude yesterday.
Ivan15 : 11/20/2017 10:30 am : link
Good news, bad news. If he finishes 6-10, he might keep his job.

There is a lack of communication in the organization. Either McAdoo doesn’t know what the team needs, doesn’t communicate it to Reese, or Reese isn’t listening.

OR maybe Reese is just a lousy judge of talent. He tried to fix the o-line over a 5-year period through the draft and FA, got guards who couldn’t stay on the field, tackles who were less than mediocre, and resigned a tackle who was a bit better than mediocre but developed an injury history too.
It felt great to win again !!
Bluesbreaker : 11/20/2017 5:07 pm : link
There is also a part of me that wants a top pick and I want
Barkley . I will still root for a win every damn week as I always do but I'm also realistic as good as that win felt the Chiefs are in decline right now and I am not trying to
minimize the win . Then again the Cards are not the formidable team they were a few years back the Cryboys got exposed against maybe the best team in football right now the Eagles who lets face it has always been a thorn in our side . Looking at the schedule we could end up a 6 win team
and that stinks just as much as a three win team .
Leaving out the QB possibility there is some great players
Saquon Barkley Generational RB Game Breaker
Bradley Chubb, DE Elite player a Definite need
Quenton Nelson, G he is a monster and a need
Arden Key, DE/OLB not sure he is top 5 material
Minkah Fitzpatrick, S/CB great defender hard to pass on
Those to me are player's that will start form day one are they all can't miss who the heck knows but I don't want it
to be a 10th pick or even 9th pick and most of these guys are gone if were gonna have a shit season I want a shot at one of these guys .
ok..they win more games this year
micky : 11/20/2017 7:28 pm : link
where does that get you? can't carry those wins into next year...and if one says.."well it can carry over into next year the winning.

bs year to year starts anew..no momentum no nothing from 2017. there a 6 month off period.

so wins aren't putting this team into playoffs..instead hurts draft position, where you really don't get to so often chance to draft so high ..unless you're the hapless Browns
They've had multiple opportunites to get John Fox back
Ten Ton Hammer : 11/20/2017 7:34 pm : link
and IIRC, they haven't even come close to doing that.
