Marlins have received trade offers for Stanton from the Giants, Cardinals, and possibly the Red Sox. Stanton has said he wont go to Sox or Cards. Not sure why not the Cards. They have the trade power with 3 top prospect arms. Not sure who they offered.
JD Martinez agent wants 200 mil for his guy. Martinez is a very good player but not sure he is worth that. He will prob get it though.
MLB and Japan have agreed to extend the posting agreement one year and list Otani under the extension. Just waiting for Players Union to agree to it. I don't see why they would not agree. Due to his age he would have to sign a minor league deal and would be subject just like all other. Rangers have the most money 3.5 mil and the Yanks are just under that with 3.3 mil.
Not sure if any deals will be done before Thanksgiving.
The players will have restrictions on their free agency. BA will update the list of players removed from the organization and the rules regarding their next contracts as that information becomes available.

Everyone knew the Braves were in trouble and would lose some recent international prospects. He was insinuating or at least presenting the thought that Acuna would be involved and that isn't true as if yet. Acuna was signed by Frank Wren and had nothing to do with the former GM that resigned.
Ever since Coppy resigned.
The story broke days before Capone mentioned it here FYI
Its not all out yet
Absolutely! My hopes are low though.
It's kind of a big story.
I am wondering if the Padres will be investigated. They spent the most amount of money in that years IFA market and signed most of the top 30 prospects.
Still sour over this?

Of course they are. Yankee fans have been waiting for 60 years to be able to get revenge for that but fate has yet to bring both teams together again for that shot. Sad.
Don't a lot of teams do the shady shit, they just don't treat everyone like crap in the process?

Such an awesome signing class that year. Then again, without shady shit there is a chance that Coppy wouldn't have been able to grab these guys anyways.

Yes if Coppy wasn't such an asshole the Braves would be sitting pretty right now. They also had an agreement in place with 14 year old Robert Puason who is the top prospect for the 2020 signing period. They we now banned from signing him.

So if everyone's doing it, Coppy was banned for life because he is a dick?
I don't know why anyone mentions Acuna. He was signed years ago by a different regime.

is going to get to pick where he wants to go. Apparently this doesn't impact Acuna.

Because he is their top prospect and many baseball fans don't follow the Braves enough to know when or by whom he was signed.
MLB investigation found no wrongdoing on his part. He wasn't the acting GM. Question is, how could he not have known? Either he is lying and got away with it or he was completely oblivious. Either way I'm glad he is gone. Time for new blood.
I do seem to recall someone (maybe a buscone) being fired by the Yanks. Does anyone remember that?
And my beloved Yankees would never cheat, Filthy. Only a Braves (or Mets) fan would insinuate such a shanda.

Source: Tentative agreement reached among NPB, MLB, Players Association on posting system to cover this offseason, then 3-yr deal moving forward. going to be 10 days until owners ratify, earliest Ohtani posted next Friday.
Blakeley who was fired with Coppy also came from the Yankees.
Hart was the president Coppy was the GM. Hart re-signed reportedly due to the investigation. He either knew about all of this and did nothing to stop it or he was unaware of what was happening right under his nose. Either way Hart looks bad. With that said Hart played a huge part in the rebuild and I personally am sad to see him go despite the fact that he was more of a consultant than an actual president.
I am glad as well but it wasn't for a lack of trying. They tried desperately to get former Braves exec Dayton Moore to come over as GM but the Royals wouldn't allow it. AA was the fallback option. I am very happy that they didn't bring in Moore as I am not a fan of his. Let's just hope that Anthopoulos isn't pressure to make a big trade in a lame attempt to raise fan morale while giving up several top prospects.

I've been wanting to get past the Braves way for years. I'm delighted, and surprised, that they picked a GM who doesn't have ties to the old guard.

I think AA will do a good job.

It wouldn't be surprising if the Mets moved soon on bullpen. One name I keep hearing: Bryan Shaw.
