This sucks

Chris684 : 11/21/2017 11:07 am
This is the worst week of the season when a season goes down the tubes. It is especially depressing given not only the high expectations, but also what would/should have been a huge game against the Skins. Watching these meaningless games is very weird. My reaction to beating the Chiefs on Sunday was getting excited that I had yard work to do.

For me, Thanksgiving is an incomplete ritual without meaningful Giants football. There is no jockeying for playoff position to look forward to. The Eagles are 9-1 and kicking ass. The football world is upside down.

This franchise needs to somehow restore order after this season.

maybe more yard work is what you need

given how they walked the razor's edge last season. I know, I know, fans want to believe but it was more likely imv this team would regress to the mean.

It's not a great option,

but knowing how hard Eagles fans are going to fall when they fail puts a smile in the back of my mind. Let them get as high on their flying team as they want. I've actually been building up a few friends who are Eagles fans. It's going to be fun.

I'm all on board the Minnesota Vikes train.....

for the remainder of the year.

I like Zimmer. Even though he's not playing right now I like Teddy B, plus Linval is there who we should have never let walk.

It will be hard to knock the Eagles out of the bye week but I'm still holding out hope they don't get home field. At 8-2 the Vikes have a shot.

I'm hoping Vikes, Saints (who I despise but still better than Philly), and Rams who play Philly head to head can somehow knock them out of the top 2 seeds.
i enjoyed the win last week
gm7b5 : 11/21/2017 11:28 am : link
this team should be in contention, but it is what it is. Ill watch the skins game and enjoy a possible victory. They will be reeling coming off that Saints game. The game of the year will be beating Philly at home. Then on to next year. Hopefully if we beat Philly it costs them homefield and they lose in New Orleans
little victories

the Redskins are 4-6, and still have a chance at a wild card spot, albeit a slim one.....

Looks like a lot of injuries on the defense this week.....

This offense is just anemic.....I don't see the defense holding the Skins, under what the offense scores....

I'm with you on the Vikes bandwagon, however can Case Keenum get them to a Super Bowl? They'd probably also have to go through Philly. Vikes defense might be good enough, but their offense is a bit hit and miss. I would probably say the Seahawks could come into Philly and come away with a win though. We can only hope Philly comes off their high.

This has been the case more often than not in recent years so last year felt more like the outlier than this does.

In any event, I'm just looking forward to spending time with family. Especially those in my family who are currently serving and I don't get to see often.

We'll have football on the tube all day as always but I came to terms with this disaster of a season quite some time ago so it really doesn't bother me anymore.

Yeah, expecting regression is one thing... I don't think anyone expected 2 wins by Thanksgiving.
No, there's always something to root for.

Me, I'd like to see Travis Rudolph score a couple of TDs and have even more people hear the story of him and Bo Paske on Thanksgiving.

They have, but it could/should be a catalyst for significant change and (hopefully) fewer half measures.

At some point, someone has to realize the team hitting the field on a weekly basis have been suspect since 2012!

I was thinking before the game this past Sunday how hilarious it would be if the Eagles made it to the SB and got beat by Andy Reid. The Chiefs have been awful lately, but maybe they can get their act together and make it happen!

Unless they are the second coming of the 60s Packers, the Eagles peaking this early in the season is not necessarily a good sign for them. The Chiefs could catch a second wind in time...

My Iggle fan friends are already getting ready for the parade. I know it's not nice to want their football souls crushed again but I will enjoy it immensely (but quietly) if it happens. Can't decide whether it would be more fun for them to lose NFC title game or get beat by the Pats or Steelers in the SB.

Regressing to the mean is one thing. This 2-8 crap is something entirely different. Gut feeling I figured the Giants would have a somewhat uphill battle this season but I expected them to be no worse than maybe 5-5 right now. This team has no business being 2-8. Just a total monumental collapse this season. I'm still in disbelief that they couldn't beat Tampa and one of Detroit or SD in jersey. Throw in the blown late lead to Philly, just crap. I always make peace with the team struggling right before week 1 just for my sanity but this is ridiculous. 4-6? Fine. 2-8? Fucking garbage.
Well
