commits PI every now and then and is almost certainly in the 10% slowest cornerbacks in the league . But he gets away with things that would take down a normal man. He does this in a dignified manner. And he's a no nonsense competitor . In short , a survivor.
Pittsburgh thought they were better off signing Sensabaugh and unloading Cockrell. I agree, but Ross has yet to hurt the Giants .

I thought it was because they traded for Joe Haden?
About him when we made the trade. There were some other big moves that same weekend so he wrote about how he thought this was the best move made by any team.
The Giants figured to be in contention, and they didn't have any proven depth behind their top three CBs. Renting Cockrell for a year put a reasonably high floor under the corner position. Of course, if you knew the team would open the season 1-8 anyway, you wouldn't be trading for one-year rentals; but that's pure hindsight.
We'll find out what the Giants - and 31 other teams - think of Ross Cockrell in March.

Cockrell was a good pick-up.
This year he definitely has been. Apple had one game vs. DEN where he wasn't garbage.
