Not Knicks related but a solid little piece on the NBA HOF model for some guys who have "arguments". The model has Joe Johnson a likely HOFer, Manu/Parker locks, Rose (lolz) not in, Dwight Howard 100% in
Speaking of which
"The Cleveland Cavaliers seem to have found their way. They’ve won five straight. According to NBA.com, they have the eighth-best defensive rating over that span. Perhaps the most important number, though, belongs to Derrick Rose: zero minutes played.
The Rose tenure in Cleveland has been nothing short of disastrous, albeit limited.
In the seven games he’s played, the Cavs are 4-3. They are 6-4 when he hasn’t played.
When he’s been on the court, the Cavaliers’ offensive rating is 4.2 points worse and the defensive rating is (I kid you not) 12 points worse.
That puts the net rating differential at 16.2 points.
That’s impressive when you’re on an otherwise good team and playing with the greatest player on the planet. It’s even more apparent when you look at Rose’s Real Plus-Minus numbers at ESPN."

"According to HAM, Johnson has an 84 percent chance of earning induction. He falls into a group of nine players who have made between five and eight All-Star appearances, have won fewer than two championships and have an effective field-goal percentage of 49.7 or better in at least 829 career games. The only one to not make it into the Hall of Fame within this group is former Phoenix Suns star Walter Davis, who played from 1977 to 1992. But he’s a special case, having failed the league’s drug policy twice while battling cocaine addiction—one violation short of a lifetime ban. Although he did make amends with the league and the Suns, who have retired his jersey, his off-court follies could have played a significant role in his selection appeal."

I hope so. I think that he is going to make a great HC someday.
I could easily see Jack being a successful head coach in the league. The basketball IQ upgrade to Jack from Drose has been immense for the Knicks. Very smart player.
What a fall from grace for Rose. Has an MVP ever had this type career downslope? I'd be surprised if he's on an nba roster next year. Remember that one poster who would defend him at all costs last year??
Loved this. thanks.
The pacers game will forever be the moment I go back to when I need to exorcise patience with Frank's future potential. He showed so much that night. A guy like Frank that works so hard, usually that potential comes to fruition before too long.
The weird thing about dep and Rose was, wasn’t he always absolutely killing him when he was on the Bulls after he clearly regressed? Then he went to the Knicks and suddenly dep was his biggest fan again
Rose will be a good fit in Cleveland as the 6th man which is his ideal role. He can't do anythign other than score close to the basket.

Conversations in Cleveland are around cutting him altogether now. He'll never be a good 6th man because he won't ever accept that's what he is. When IT comes back, even if he's not cut, is he even in the Cavs rotation anymore?
Lebron
Love
IT
Crowder
Smith
Wade
Tristan
Korver
Shump
That's 9, not including guys like Frye or Green. Gotta assume Cavs are in on a trade closer to the deadline or some waived veteran after it as well.
and shumpeet is not going to be in the rotation over him, rose will be the back up point when thomas comes back...
By the way, I know that trade didn't work out, but I still defend the move. We traded nothing and took a shot. It didn't work out and we walked away. We are better off without Grant and Lopez on this team.
OKC- things really go south and they look to move Melo or PG or both at the deadline. I think OKC keeps getting better though.
New Orleans- Boogie Cousins if things go south. But Cousins and Davis have been incredible together.
Memphis- If they decide to hit the reset button and move Gasol, Conley or both. This would take a dramatic change in ownership, but Gasol is 32 and Conley 30.
Would a package of the Brooklyn Pick, future 1st, Kevin Love ( to be kept or flipped for picks) and salary filler be enough to get Gasol and Conley?? That's really the only trade with any chance of happening that could help the Cavs knock off the Warriors. If I'm Colby Altman, I'm going all in to try to win another championship this year and get Lebron to stay.

As an offensively challenged player, I really appreciate great defense.
I like Jack, but I was upset with him when the Knicks played the Cavs, he got sucked in when Lebron drove and he wasn't going to help anyway, Lebron would have steam rolled him, no way he should have left Korver
On the Knicks, people defended him by blaming his supporting cast, the various coaches, the GM, the owner.
Now he's on a team that won 45 games last year and added Paul George and they are worse, while the Knicks are much better.
Do the math.
Shumpert is awful nowadays, before rose got hurt he was not even playing...
it is funny, i rewatched that game against the bulls on easter sunday 5 days ago, shumpert was a beast that game...he tore his acl and never really regained that potential

Not to rehash this, but in no way are we better with Noah on this team then Lopez.

Shumpert is one of their better defenders. He'll play

I remember that game well. He looked so explosive and incredibly promising. Honestly he not only hasn't improved, he's gotten worse. He used to be a very good on ball defender but even that has dropped off. He still makes poor decisions and can't shoot or handle the ball. It just shows you that players have to keep developing.
You are correct though, I'd rather be stuck with Lopez's contract that Noah's. That being said, Chicago couldn't even find a taker for Lopez last year.
bullshit. the moves were linked.
And the Rose trade was rightfully pegged by anyone with half a brain as extremely dumb the day it was made. There is no defense for it.
“They’re soft. They don’t know how to coach my son,” LaVar Ball said of the Lakers staff in a recent interview with Bleacher Report. “I know how to coach him. I tell him to go get the victory. Stop messing around.”
"“I think the part of my game that’s missing is the experience [and] developing an NBA type of space,” Hicks stated. “I think I’m playing 30-plus minutes or something like that. Getting that experience and just being out there, getting a feel for it, so then when I get called up and I get out there and play, I’ll be ready.”
The North Carolina product has bursted out of the gate early on in the season. He’s been an important player in the team’s offense. In the team’s recent game against the Lakeland Magic, Hicks had one of his best overall performances of the season. He was efficient with his shotand recorded a career-high four blocks.
Through eight games, Hicks is averaging 16.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 31.8 minutes per game. He had a stretch of three games in which he recorded a double-double, including a 35 point performance against the Grand Rapids Drive. Also, he is No. 10 in the G League in rebounds.
For Hicks, his two main goals are improving and winning. With him getting 30-plus minutes a night in Westchester, he’ll have a ample opportunity to improve while staying ready incase the New York Knicks call him up.
“For me, first of all, I like to win,” Hick said. “That’s the big thing. But for me personally, it’s just improving overall. I just feel like overall that I did everything I could to work. If I feel comfortable, I think that’s the biggest thing. Just being able to come out shoot [and] drive. Just being comfortable in my own body. I feel like that will be my overall goal.”
With the talent in place, along with Hicks’ winning mentality, Westchester looks like a strong team. If the squad continues its dominance as the season goes on, Hicks’ experience and clutch ability will come in handy."

I do not but it says his account was suspended. Obviously I have no idea why.

Interesting, thanks for posting it. I find it odd that the writer didn't mention Hicks' position, height, or who's in front of him on the Knicks. I see he's 6'8" - but does he mainly play the 3 or the 4?
DX-
{Generally speaking, Hicks doesn't appear to be someone you want making a ton of decisions with the ball in his hands, as he can get a little bit out of control when asked to go outside his comfort level. He generates almost nothing for teammates (career 5% assist percentage) and coughs the ball up a little more frequently than you might hope considering his role-player status (career 15.8% turnover percentage). Hicks' calling card as a NBA prospect revolves around his energy-level and overall versatility he offers on defense. He can switch onto any position on the floor and stay in front of players much smaller than him thanks to his quick feet. His ability to get in a low stance, cover ground and contest shots on the perimeter at 6'9, 240 pounds is very intriguing in today's NBA. On top of that, he's strong enough to hold his ground against most big men, as well as rotate over from the weakside, block shots or take charges. He racked up rebounds, steals and blocks at a nice rate. His toughness and intensity was a difference maker on a UNC team that had quite a few mouths to feed offensively, and not enough role-players at times. Hicks has the physical tools and motor to be an excellent defender at the next level as well, but is still working on his discipline, technique, consistency and experience to truly become elite in the college game. He loses his focus off the ball, takes poor angles in pick and roll coverages, and is susceptible to biting on fakes, being extremely foul prone at times last year. Unlike many seniors, NBA scouts might still feel like they have a lot to learn about Isaiah Hicks going into his last season of college basketball, as he hasn't gotten a huge amount of playing time throughout his career, and seems to be on an upwards trajectory still. There is very much a place in today's NBA for versatile big men who can guard all over the floor and be difference makers with their energy level, and it will be interesting to see what kind of progress Hicks is able to make in his last year while finally playing a more featured role. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Isaiah-Hicks-7069/ ©DraftExpress
