I know he's flaky at times, but this guy is not only a difference maker on offense but has now taken the other WRs under his wing. I chalk antics up to immaturity.
what he should be doing, how is this a news story. Anyway he might be maturing hopefully there is less stupidity out of him next year.
This should be a news story if they also want to cover him when he’s at a McDonald’s drive thru. And lots of inured players disconnect from the team so it’s nice to read that he’s still maintaining communication and trying to help.
for a Giants fan (and I'm talking about myself here) to love OBJ and the kind of work ethic he has and clearly the talent he brings to the team, but at the same time wish he'd cut back on some of the stupid, immature shit he has done, and be slightly more in control of his emotions on the football field?
I'm not at all surprised by anything in this report. Good stuff. Was never in doubt of the way he prepares to do his job or the type of teammate he is.

Nothing, but that's usually not what's displayed on this board. Its all or nothing almost 100% of the time.
so OBJ is a good teammate and talks to his fellow receivers? yay!
doesn't change some of the negative stuff he does and is open to criticism.
also doesn't change the very reasonable debate about how much $$ to sink into a WR long term.
but one article comes out praising OBJ's inspirational text messages and a bunch of nit wits line up to pat themselves on the back and call other people idiots.
The Odell is God crowd is easily impressed. Is he helping Giants win ? No- he's hurt. Again. When not suspended or hurt he is the most explosive player in the NFL. But for how much longer ? His slight frame and mounting injuries make me think he won't sustain this level of play. It's nice that he isn't the a-hole off the field that he is on it but how does that help Giants win ?

If you don’t know why the comment exist, you are the dolt.

Always hurt, kind of like Julio Jones who’s the “prototypical” WR that has 1 TD this year?
The league is full of WRs that are smaller, including guys like Antonio Brown who happens to be he best WR in the league.
He has all the talent in the world and is hopelessly immature on the field. Because he is such a great competitor he feels he can lash out whenever the emotions overwhelm him…no worries, saying sorry afterwards makes up for it all.
Worst of all: the FO is afraid of him. Letting him run amuck and handling him with kid gloves may be a significant part of the double standard that has fractured the Giants locker room…just not the receiving core.

so drc and jenkins were suspended for what? leaving the field early and being late to coming back from the bye...
when has beckham ever missed a pracfice or been late to a meeting?
you wanted the giants to suspened him for what? dancing on the field?..
so steelers shoulf be suspending brown? he is just as wild on the field with dancing and the steelers seem to be doing just fine...
you got player playing leap frog on the field after touchdowns...
when beckham starts skipping meetings and missing oractice then you can blame him for the dysfunction

There's a common narrative that Odell is selfish and doesn't care about winning.
This article proves the contrary. He doesn't have to be encouraging a guy like Roger Lewis, who possibly won't be on the roster next year.

Significant part of the fractures locker room? He might be one of the few leaders this team has.
It's funny that Eli can get credit for his quiet way of leadership, but Odell can't get credit for this. Leaders lead in different ways.
There are a lot of arguments for and against OBJ... talented, energetic, selfish, immature, self centered.
I love watching OBJ's talent in a Giant uniform... but I hate his "look at me" antics and I legitmately question how much money we want to tie up in a diva WR long term.
that said, I think it is great he is encouraging his teammates... it doesn't surprise me, in fact... but a few text messages does not "prove" anything and it certainly doesn't equate to people coming on here and puffing out their chests about OBJ and calling others who criticize OBJ idiots.

Now he's a generational player LOL..............
Most players completely seperate themselves from the team when going on IR
oh wait

He has yet to prove that and came up small in his biggest spot in the playoffs!
playing on one of the worst teams in the league. Go figure, he makes a difference.
AB's 1st playoff game-3-75 yards-0 td's
AB's 2nd playoff game-1-14 yards-0 td's
AB's 3rd playoff game-1-1 yard-0 td's
AB's 4th playoff game-5-70 yards-0 td's
OBJ-4-28 yards-0 td's
