And stop the flopping. Refs are not going to give foul calls to pussies unless their name is Lebron. Not fair but just the way it is.
Knicks need to get physical. Have KOQ take out Derozan . I know that is not Horne’s way but this is the Eadtern conference not the Western. It’s all about being physical

You think KP just woke up one day and decided he's going to be a flopper? He's being coached to do it. That's how you counter attack the physical defense, teams are giving him, to slow down his hot start.
The foul calls against that physical defense (cause of the flops) will slow down that defense they are putting upon him so he can open up his game. It's a chess match out there man.

If you think a European dude is going to get foul calls, you are really idealizing the NBA. Maybe like Dirk after ten years. But it Int happening for for KP at 22.

But this is the best I have seen Hardaway play across the board but even offensively. In the past when he felt he was in the zone he would chuck up some stupid ass shots. Now he is passing up those shots to drive to the basket and we are getting results.
Will have some trade value for playoff teams nearing the trade deadline
It would be nice to get rid of his contract to get back a young player and or draft pick
I think McDermott and Dotson can easily take his spot

True. But he will also have value for that other playoff team called the NY Knicks
What an amazing quarter, and a team that continues to Â
that was fun to watch. Guys like Lee, Hardaway and Kanter aren’t known for their defense, but they’re busting there asses out there and making a difference
RE: That's the best quarter of Knicks basketball Â
Yup, he put the game away after the Raptors made their run.
Interesting to see Jack get most of the 4th Q tonight, Frank had been getting the call down the stretch of close games more often. Jack doesn’t offer much on offense but veteran presence, but tonight that’s all we needed
This is a crazy night in the Association. Knicks with a 28-0 run and 41-10 quarter, Celtics come back to earth for a night, Warriors getting blown out by OKC, Spurs getting blown out, #TheProcess keeps on working in Philly
The Atlantic all of a sudden is a great division Â
It's almost like the Knicks sent him to boarding school in Atlanta for a few years and now he's all grown up. I'm not ready to declare him a star or anything, but he's got talent and a work ethic that should sustain him.
Could be. Knicks showing they are legit with a big win over a team that just blew them out
Definitely the best win. I went in pretty concerned tonight and when the raptors jumped out to the double digit lead I figured they were just the better team. Not only was this just a great team win we saw the Knicks backcourt outplay an all star backcourt with Toronto-- mainly hardaway but lee, frank and jack had their moments too.
So much fun watching the Knicks. With the Giants being the Giants the Knicks have restored my faith in the universe. Just keep it up.
But everything this season for the Knicks is gravy. I had no expectations other than a nice draft pick, which might be flying out the window. But with Kanter and Hardaway being way better than I thought, to KP taking the "quantum leap" as Clyde would say, I just watch every game and am happy to see a competitive basketball team. I don't get angry when they lose, I'm just happy they're playing nice basketball.
with a tough Dec/Jan schedule for the Knicks - 11 home/20 road games over those 2 months. But at this point, who cares, this team is a lot of fun to watch while several younger guys are still learning to play

You're likely right, but this team has surprised us quite often already, so I wouldn't be shocked if they continued to improve going forward, and won more than we'd expect during that stretch. Either way, hopefully they will grow as a team and offer hope for better times ahead.
I'd say that out of the 10 starters in that Lakers/Kings game Â
Per Elias, the Knicks’ 28-0 run in 3rd quarter tonight was the biggest run by a team since the Cavaliers had a 29-0 run against the Bucks in December 2009.
shadow boxing the air like John Starks like 5 times this season. Thats probably more than double the past 2 seasons total...All they kept asking Horny and the players afterwards was was that the best quarter of the season? ummmm the season? try the past 2 or 3 decades...
Is a mediocre scrub that will always suck because I’ve already made my mind up and when I make my mind up on someone that is final. Results be damned. I’ve always been that way and you’ll have to deal with it.

Ha, I think tonight's performance might be enough for even Greg to hand out some grudging kudos THJr's way. Talk about Turkey Day miracles!
Nice to have a TEAM to root for, and not just a collection of individuals looking out for themselves. I don't know if it was by design or by accident, but the Knicks wound up having one heck of an offseason.

Dumping Melo is the biggest case of addition by subtraction in recent memory, for sure

I wouldn’t disagree with this outright, but my opinion is that the toxicity of the Phil Jackson atmosphere was the bigger issue. It was absolutely stifling.
Either way, McDermott and Kanter are really valuable to this team. I absolutely love what McBuckets is bringing to the table at both ends.
More than just “addition by subtraction”, to me it’s more like Perry got really good value in the deal, as it turns out.
were both huge issues, and I'm ecstatic that both Phil and Melo are gone. The team plays defense, they pass, they run hard. I haven't had this much fun rooting for the Knicks since it was the Felton/Gallo/Wilson Chandler/Amare team that was weirdly good. And then they blew that up for Melo.

Yup good points. To that end, Hornacek has been free to coach as he sees fit, without big chief triangle running his own silly camps on the side and sending orders about how to run the offense. And whaddya know, Hornacek’s doing a worthy job

Most were having him ride off into the sunset before the season even started.
It's funny how quickly that narrative changes, once the shackles came off, and they allowed Horny to run the team as he saw fit.

Usually you don't get value out of trading a dollar for four quarters but the Knicks did in this case
“Defense was my focus coming out here because there were all these comments, that, ‘Oh, he can score the ball. Offensively he’s at an All-Star level but defensively he’s bad,’ ” Kanter said. “I just wanted to prove all the haters wrong. My thing was coming here and being really focused on defense because I knew I was going to score the ball.”
"That’s an ambitious goal, but it’s worth noting that Kanter has shown signs of progress on defense during the 2017-18 season.
Kanter finished the 2016-17 NBA regular season with a Defensive Real-Plus Minus of -1.24—No. 66 amongst 69 qualified centers. That isn’t necessarily the end-all, be-all of defensive value, but it’s a metric that does a generally solid job of displaying a player’s impact on either end of the floor.
It’s only been 16 games, but thus far in 2017-18, Kanter’s Defensive RPM is a positive 0.31—a vast improvement over 2016-17."
Thanks for posting, love these film school videos. Kanter put on a help defense clinic in Q3 last night, slipping off his man to stop several drives. Fun to watch
that he worked hard to lose weight during the off season in order to be able to concentrate harder on defense. Looks like he has taken that seriously and is producing results.
He always get knocked on his defense and even DMM says, "he is what he is. "
But this is a guy I see busting his ass to defend (even with his limitations ) and color me blind but even looks like he's improving.
It would be hard for him to be worse than he was.
I'm not against Kanter whatsoever. He's a huge part of this team.
That said, I don't know what to make of his improved defense. It's a contract year. Was he always capable of this and just not applying himself? What's going to happen if he convinces the Knicks to keep him? He's going to cost a fortune if the season ended today and he hit free agency.
Drake is part of the ref crew tonight

I don’t know whether Frankie will become a great player. Only Nostradamus and B in Alb know that. But I love the way this kid does not back down.
Wouldn’t it be great if you and I could get paid 7 million for sucking at our job?

KP got the call again just now.
It would be nice to get rid of his contract to get back a young player and or draft pick
I think McDermott and Dotson can easily take his spot
I admit I was wary of this signing. But it is looking more and more that Mills looks like he knew what he was doing
Mcbuckets looks legit AF too as a role guy...

I think it is the best I have ever seen. Unreal. They also only scored 10 because of some bad fouls on our part too.

THJr: 18.4 ppg
Really missin’ Melo.
Zach Randolph is the offensive juggernaut thus far in this one...
THJr: 18.4 ppg
Really missin’ Melo.
And Hardaway applied himself more on defense in the 3rd quarter tonight thank Melo typically did in half a season
THJr: 18.4 ppg
Really missin’ Melo.
He was past his expiration date.
According to Rotoworld, the only Knicks with 38/7/7 line in the past 50 years:
- Clyde Frazier
- Bernard King
- Ewing
- Hardaway Jr.
