Two things of note: Is it mere coincidence that the Chin, is doing the NY rounds on Thanksgiving Morning?
Is it me, or was he using every bit of his time to show his FB acumen, to the NY, audience?
he won 1 SB and has been out of coaching for several years.
Would be nice to scout and find someone young who can lead this team for the next several years. Maybe McAdoo is that guy. We'll have to see how the rest of the season plays out.
Cowher has lived and worked and been seen around in new york and north carolina since working for CBS. It means nothing. Guy's been out of coaching for over a decade, makes tons of money, and hasn't even taken an interview for another NFL job.
Doesn't matter to me where he drops his hat. Just thought it was odd, with his resume, that he's on the road on Thanksgiving morning. Guess I started drinking too early, his CBS affiliation says it all. He seemed a bit overzealous this morning, and I haven't seen him as giddy talking football in a while.
With that being said, how about giving Strahan, a shot as next GM? Would he do it? Does he have it?
at people who refuse to give him his due. Did he win multiple Super Bowls? No. But the guy is a fucking football coach. It isnt rocket science. Sure there would be concerns he’s out of the game too long but he’s also stayed in it with his announcing gig. I’d do a backflip if we got him. He is very Parcells-like in his ability with players.
he is interested in Charlie Rose's job...Cowher is done coaching at this point. It's been over a decade since he has
coached in this league. The only guy I can recall coaching after a longer absence was Vermeil (about 15 years).
Cowher had no interest in interviewing for the HC job. I would prefer Gruden over Cowher as Cowher admitted in the past that he wasn't sure if he could dedicate the necessary time and focus required to be a HC.

If Cowher came back I could see it going the way of a Gibbs v2.0 or Shanahan.

Didn't see anyone arguing that he wasn't a good coach, but I don't think he was so good that that's the guy you have to have even though he hasn't coached in 11 years. It feels like the longer the span of time from the last time a coach ran a team is, the better the fans remember them. We're doing it with Gruden too.
This is the guy more and more people want to run their team every week because.

Total (11 seasons)
W-95, L-81, 5 Division Titles, 1 Super Bowl Win
So he won the Division Title almost 50% of his years, and did win a Super Bowl. Also remember the Raiders team he took over sucked and he immediately went to 8-8.

Plenty of better choices. Much But then again some people here liked McAdoo. As well as did ownership.
Which is the issue.
Mac isn’t going anywhere for a long time? Lulz. January isn’t really that far away. Maybe you consider a bit over a month a long time?

Ditto, we have already Gruden and Saban.

Gruden was a very good coach:
Oakland (1998-2001)
W-38, L-26, 2 Division Championships
TB (2002-2008)
W-57, L-55, 3 Division Titles, 1 Super Bowl Win
Total (11 seasons)
W-95, L-81, 5 Division Titles, 1 Super Bowl Win

He had a good career. But he gets thought of as a "QB guru" and some genius coach when he wasn't.
Is he going to coach again? Probably not, but you don't know more than the rest of us, so get over yourselves. Stranger things have happened.
..and suggesting that he wasn't good at his job is so unbelievably asinine that I won't even counter it.
