The Giants need to play Davis Webb, to see what they have in him
GeofromNJ : 11/23/2017 11:50 pm : link
Continue to start Eli to keep his string alive, but let's see what Webb can do. I don't want to hear about his getting killed behind this line. He's a football player and he'll survive.
Tough to judge Eli
bc4life : 11/23/2017 11:50 pm : link
OLine is a sieve. No running game and he has one serious wr, who happens to be a TE. He is not that mobile - you have to give him some semblance of a running game and a little time to throw.
Really enjoyed the way Eli elevated the game...

Who can blame him? His lousy receivers can't catch the ball when he puts it right in their hands! He's probably pissed off, but has so much class that he won't throw anyone under the bus.

Why is this an acceptable excuse for the guy who is supposed to be the leader?

would have liked to see us try and run Gallman wide more, especially to the right side. Maybe play action to Adams, since nobody expect us to throw to him.

The problem is this year when there was a decent running game and a little better protection, he still looked very average.
No more sharing the blame. Either this QB

PLUS: The conditioning of our players is poor.

That's not fair. They play an inordinate amount of snaps because the offense can't stay on the field.

The offense had run 12 plays in the second half when Cousins threw his second TD. There's no amount of conditioning that makes the amount of plays this defense has to play a sustainable thing.
when did they have a decent running

No, it's not.
Why is everyone complaining?

The Giants were 7 1/2 points underdog
and they almost covered.
The Giants are playing their best ball right now.
djm : 11/23/2017 11:54 pm : link
I don't think there is any question the Giants haven't played any better than the last two weeks. And they scored 3 offensive points tonight and how many last week? Single digits?

They have been so bad this year that bad looks good. Think about that.

The only reason this team doesn't resemble the 1980 saints is the D has a lot of talent and there's a borderline hot qb behind center. The coaching and direction all year has been unspeakably terrible. Just hang in there everyone... take the pain... we are almost done. Then pray the Giants "panic." Panic can be a good thing.
Hey Coach Did the team practice well this week? Coach being stubborn

Is Dak “done” too?
trueblueinpw : 11/23/2017 11:59 pm : link
The NFL golden boy Dak had a pretty rough day. See, all of the sudden he doesn’t have an All Pro RB and he doesn’t look so good even with that all world offensive line and Dez and HOF TE. Yeah, sure, he can still run around but no running back kind of has an impact.

But Eli? No doubt he’s done because he can’t play a perfect game with lousy running backs, a for shit offensive line, WRs off the practice squad and a first round draft pick that can’t catch the ball when it hits him in the hands and the least creative coaching staff in the NFL. Yeah, Eli’s done.

How about the fact that the offense hasn't scored 30 points since the 2015 season?
It's not that tough
hassan : 11/24/2017 12:01 am : link
To judge Eli.

His defenders claim just give him an above average line running game and receivers. 25 qbs can succeed with that in this league.

And if the problem is everyone around him this means it's not going to happen timely enough for Eli to demonstrate he can still play. And how long does that last? He set up for a good 2019?

It's time to be done and move on. He's had a great career he's a great guy. he's rich as hell and has a beautiful wife and family and a life I would kill for.

So no he doesn't deserve a Better ending and I don't feel bad for him. It's clear he's done.

Mac is done and reese is done too. Almost all agree on that. But the Eli cult here has to get real and realize he has to be done too.

I realize it’s torture watching this product now, but the long term viability of this franchise is predicated on losing these types of games moving forward. It is imperative that Jerry Reese and McAdoo are toast in 6 weeks.

The Giants did not gain a first down on 8 of their 12 possessions (not counting the kneel down before the first half).

Four of their seven first downs came on the FG drive. They gained one first down on three other drives.

These receivers will run routes deeper than 3 yards or hang on to the ball for another QB? Will we suddenly be able to rush for more than a 100 yards for another QB? Seems like there are a lot deeper issues at play here

It doesn't look like there's any fire in his body? (What the fuck does that mean?)

Why even try?

After a decade plus, two Super Bowls and a multitude of amazing plays and memories, he doesn't care? He's not trying?
