Obviously he has had his issues with alcoholism, but the players he drafted for the Skins have been making a big impact. Guy knows how to evaluate talent.
man in a complete front-office makeover . He hit on some . He missed on some . But, overall, he did raise their talent level . I like the redemptive aspect to life . That part of it works for me. If Mara goes that route , he would be a nice addition to the new team .
Wolf will be named the GM and McCloughan the assistant GM. McCloughan would be a solid experienced aid to Wolf. Perhaps coming to a stable organization like the Giants can help McCloughan get his life together.
I don't want the ownership to grant him asylum from the disaster he built. He should have already been fired.....what are they waiting for? The end of the season he'll still be the same clueless man in the fancy suits!
drinking problems representing your organization period. If he shows up drunk at the combine or at some league meeting, no one's going to say "sure he's blasted but he's only the Giants asst GM so no biggie".
First and most important he was involved with the building
Of the Niners and Seahawks when both were very good teams. He did get the Skins on the right track toward winning but he and Allen butted heads. I'd be fine with him as gm because he has a proven track record
Can they really taken the risk that McCloughan presents?
I think that's fine. A Ross with more power.

Maybe #2 as Retro suggests. As much as you may want to give him another chance you have to protect yourself against a relapse

Agreed
With that said I doubt Mara and co. would be interested in him due to his issues with alcohol.
I feel like you knew this sounded bad but proposed it like an actual suggestion anyway.
The DC team has been so competitive in the last 10 years
Problem is you can't control the skirt chasing and his wife's tweets about his after hours activities. Trust me, not a good fit for the giants.
