The 2015 Giants scored 420 points (6th in the NFL) with these players:
QB: Eli Manning
HB: Rashad Jennings
WR: Odell Beckham/Reuben Randle
TE: Larry Donnell
OL: Ereck Flowers/Justin Pugh/Weston Richburg/Geoff Schwartz/Marshall Newhouse
Now, there's some talent discrepancy between the 2015, 2016, and 2017 versions, but not all that much aside from a healthy Beckham. Yet even with a healthy Beckham and a much better defense, the Giants scored only 310 points last year (26th in the NFL) and are on pace for only 250 this year.
Part of the purpose of hiring McAdoo was to keep the good times rolling on offense. So what the heck happened there?
teams did not realize fully yet that if you triple OBJ you basically stop the offense.
Eli played better

Eli played better
Hint: Eli looks better in a professional offense.
This year the receivers are trash so I don't blame him - although I don't think he's been good, either.
Important to note McAdoo was given the job to keep the offense humming and improve it. That is a joke.
And then Reese doubled and tripled down on the same stuff, same ideas and biases and Mac and Sully doubled down on the same stuff further compounding the problem.
During or just prior to Manning's rookie year. It became obvious.
Weak OL play leads to short dump downs and Chuck and duck and a reduced route tree
which leads the D to sit back and hammer people
which leads to WR injuries.
EE got a case if the dropsies last night. Same reason.
Maybe Mac and Sully doubled down in short pass as run, or maybe they had to due to a beliefe that the line cannot run block, or an inability to coach that aspect up or maybe it's in Jerry Reese, but that's a waste of ODB, Shep, King, EE and Lewis.
in 2015 they were quick hit offense.
A.Rodgers mobility is perfect.
Beckham was not getting tripled as often.
Coughlin forced Mcadoo to run more big sets and estalish run and some playaction. Gone now.
Richburg has been exposed. Bull rush him and hes weak.
Just look at the tape
MUCH improved hair, in quality, in volume AND in style.
Hands Heavy...with gel!
Styles On Point.
One thing that stands out even then is how much yardage gets left on the field due to Eli's lack of mobility. That's something that must be taken into consideration when choosing the next QB of this franchise.
Compared to how he looked then, it's probably safe to say Shane Vereen is cooked now.
