FF 11-24 Day after Thanksgiving

superspynyg : 11/24/2017 1:58 pm
Did you have anyone go yet and if so Who and how good/bad?

I started Alfred Morris and he only go 4.9 points. I had Perine on the bench who got 14. My opponent started Cousins who got 20.08 and Engram who got 1.8. He had Rivers on the bench who had a whopping 39.5 points so I made out!!!

Off to a good start in one league - started Keenan Allen, Crowder, Theilen and Perine. Crowder was a huge pickup for me there, I needed WR help and he's the clear #1 in that passing offense now.

Allen is also on fire right now. Guy has close to 30 targets in his last two games.. both absolutely monster performances.

Dak is fucking killing me. 3 horrendous weeks in a row.

Slowly but surely I am learning some hard lessons. First, Jerick McKinnon has to be downgraded, as does Stefon Diggs.

Both should be considered solid flexes, but I passed over Jordan Howard vs Philadelphia and Joe Mixon vs a quietly good Cleveland Defense in favor of McKinnon, and passed up playing Marvin Jones against the Vikings and Devante Against the Patriots in favor of Diggs, who I expected a rebound game from that didn't happen.

Marvin Jones now has to be played against just about everyone, including tough pass defenses. In fact, I'd sooner bench him against an opponent in which a poor game script is likely, such as the Colts or 49ers, in which the game is likely to feature a lot of clock killing, than I would against a competitive team with a good pass defense like the Vikings that Jones just feasted on.

At this point, Marvin Jones is an unlikely every week starter, in a very weird year for Wide Receivers. In fact, Jones is in the top 3 in fantasy points at his position for the season, and even on a per game basis, he's #6 overall. In terms of current, active players you can put in your lineup, only DeAndre Hopkins, Antonio Brown, and A.J. Green have more fantasy points per game (standard) than Marvin Jones.

I suppose it's time to put a little more faith in him.

Is a stud.

Which 2 WR should I start

Cooper vs Denver Demaryius Thomas vs Oakland Davante Adams vs Pittsburgh Devante Parker at Patriots or Corey Davis at Colts
Benched Marvin Jones to start Keenan Allen so that worked out OK

but I could have done better by starting Jones too. Picked up Latavious Murray and started him with Allen so I got 54 points on 2 players (PPR) and in another league I picked up Rivers and started him. That team really needed help at QB after losing two A-plus QB's to injury. So I am happy but could have done better.

I think the clear top choice is Devante Parker. I want no part of Adams vs the Pittsburgh defense, and Denver is still really good against WRs so I definitely would bench Cooper as well. That leaves Davis or Thomas, and I have to go Demaryius there, because I just feel better about his role in the offense and his chances of getting 7 or more targets. And by the way, Thomas has gotten at least 8 targets the last 4 weeks, and a TD in each of the last 3 weeks. Now, Corey Davis is starting to get some targets as well, 7 last week and 10 the week before, but only 7 catches in those 17 targets, and he has yet to find the end zone. But, Rishard Matthews is a game-time decision for Sunday's 1pm matchup with the Colts. I would wait until they make an announcement on his status. If Matthews plays, go with Demaryius Thomas. If he sits, I like Corey Davis to have a big role for the Titans on Sunday.
Have to make a tough flex decision

Dez let me down again and my opponent had a big Thanksgiving with Rivers, Jones and Murray, so I need to hit on this decision to win (and stay in playoff contention). Non-PPR league.

Robby Anderson vs. Carolina
Derrick Henry @ Indianapolis
Corey Coleman @ Cincinnati
J.D. McKissic @ San Francisco

I’m leaning Robby Anderson but could make an argument for any of those guys. Who would you go with?

Joe, this is a tough one. I like Anderson also, but Carolina has been pretty stingy against wideouts this year.

Personally, I would probably play Henry against Indianapolis, a game that is likely to feature a lot of running with Tennessee against a very bad run defense.
Yea this one is killing me
JoeMoney19 : 11/25/2017 9:14 pm : link
Especially with the playoffs on the line. I really wish I’d benched Dez but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Ugh.
For me it was between Funchess and Marvin Jones in my FLEX...
Milton : 11/25/2017 9:20 pm : link
...and I chose Funchess. On top of that, I started Engram over Olsen (which was clearly the wise thing to do at the time).
On another note

I picked up Adam Shaheen in my 14 team league a couple of days ago. He’s flying under the radar for now but Chicago is focused on making him a part of their offense. Second round pick that was buried behind Sims for most of the year but is now getting his chance to shine. I wouldn’t start him or anything yet but if you’re looking for TE depth you could do worse as I think he’ll have a sizeable role going forward, especially with Chicago likely playing from behind in many games.
