NFT: Omaha steaks. Are they legit?

a company I did business with gave me a number of boxes as gifts over a couple year span and I thought they were pretty good. So unless something has changed since then they are legit.

Usually a $49.99 sampler offer in the Sunday paper that includes steak, burger,chicken, pork chops , burgers, potato, dessert as well. They also are good but way overpriced.
The steaks grill in a out 9 minutes.
If they have a store in your general area it is worth the drive because they usually have a special.

And for years I've heard the commercials on sports radio

If that's your thing. Cows aren't supposed to eat corn, reflected in the taste of the meat.

Available near you

From a local butcher or farm. Omaha Steaks and the packages are good to give away as gifts but not really worth it for personal use, imo.

We like to buy the cow from a local butcher and pack it away in a freezer.

As long as you know what you're doing on the grill, I'd go the local route.

But if you're curious, give it a shot.

Having said that, certain cuts are excellent......packaging is great.

Portions on the small side, IMO.

...and thought the quality was good for the price. I still prefer fresh meat from a local quality place (Stew Leonard's for example) but Omaha Steaks is legit.

college, it is very good. My daughter hid them from roommates because she did not want to share.....

gave them to me two years in a row. I told her not to waste her money.

Not sure if they're a lot better than what you can buy at Whole Foods or Fresh Market. Butcher shops may be good too.
I send then as gifts to close friends and distant relatives. They all said they loved them.

Waste your money trust me. They are a rip off and the filet mignon I ordered shurnk and looked like ring dings

Gifted a holiday package to me from them, was okay. But would not have bought it for myself.

Here’s the deal - they are frozen, 30 day aged seals. Good flavorful meat. I would first see if you have a local butcher that can get 28-30 day aged meat instead. Good for gifts but I wouldn’t be stocking up on it myself. If you want a great cut of meat ready to go make a friend of a local butcher or meat counter that knows about aged meat.

to have in the freezer for saving a trip to the store. The offers that they have to start, and when you don't order anything from them (and they get horny for your cash), are good deals.

But as stated above, the portions are small. Sometimes very small.

I have not ordered from them for a few years and have been thinking of looking for a similar supplier with larger portions and (if possible) better quality.

Loved having them in summer when we would just stop at the farm stand for everything else and never have to deal with hamptons traffic and crowds to get the entree.

better deals locally from wholesalers and restaurant suppliers. Look around. Also you may be able to customize.

The Omaha and similar deals are only good if you need a gift for far away friend or family which you would have to ship anyway.

for older relatives. Quality has declined greatly in recent years.
