Robert Anae can take a fucking hike, though. That game plan was horseshit. Coaching scared.
The D played hard but VT was their own worst enemies on O on a number of occasions. The 10-0 could easily have been 20+ to zero.
The game plan was atrocious. I’ve never seen a team play so beautifully against a top opponent on the road (U) then come home less than a week later and act like they were playing the ‘85 Bears...
RE: Has Virginia Tech won a national championship Â
It's a pretty high profile program in football and their fans wave the flag proudly. That's great.
But they've never actually won anything and their most famous alum is a dog murderer.
Just a weird dynamic.
Lots of hate for a team who has won nothing in your eyes. Why should you even crap if you look so poorly on them?
Hate? Not really.
One of my first games was against Jim Druckenmiller and the Hokies. We waxed that ass handily. Lots of fun on the field that day.
I also played in Blacksburg. It was a stadium filled with racism, ignorance, missing teeth and hate hours before kickoff. The only place that rivals their filth is Morgantown.
Years later I did business with a firm that only hired VA Tech grads in Atlanta. They were the rudest, most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with in 20 years. Their business shit the bed not long after. Just awful people.
But hate? Nah. Not worth my time or effort.
I drove through Blacksburg on my way to Georgia after college and took a glorious shit there. I made sure to stop there. To exit my bowels into the sewer that is that shit hole.
In cville for thanksgiving visiting family. Root for UVA as uncle and cousin are big fans. Unbelievable how the crowd was all VT. They were so loud and it had to be 80-20 VT fans. Pretty embarrassing showing in what is supposed to be a big rivalry. And traffic getting out was a nightmare
Especially since they haven't beaten our football team in a decade plus. But since Greg likes to go beyond hating anything Va Tech, I like to bask in his misery.
H-O-K-I-E-S!

No hate. Just truth.
I gotta ask. When was this? Morgantown, I can understand. Got hit with a few batteries there. But Blacksburg, nah. Definitely sounds like hate to me. Racism and missing teeth? All they needed I guess were tiki torches.

I agree with your statement. B in ALB is the only person I have ever come across that says we are like Morgantown. 99.9% of the people from opposing teams that I have ended up tailgating next to have told me we have great fan base that are very friendly and inviting. When I lived in ATL myself the GT and Alabama fans I tailgated next had nothing but nice things to say, and especially had disdain for the Bulldog fans that acted like assholes when tailgating.
My wife and I hated living in ATL. My wife is African American and could not take the blatant racism that exists there. Hell there were subcontractors that My company supplied labor too that specifically asked for “Mexicans or Hispanics” and didn’t want any African American labor. I’m positive it’s much worse Alabama.
My wife went to UMD and I have taken her to Blacksburg and she didn’t experience any hate for being a Terp or African American. She wasn’t bothered by anyone there one bit.
i was at the Barclay Center watching Virginia handle Rhode Island after obliterating Vanderbilt because this football team gives me no joy.
Amongst other things, the main problem is that Mike London totally destroyed the program several orders of magnitude worse than how Dave Leitao left our basketball program before Bennett turned it around.
I lthink Bronco Mendenhall is a good coach and is a very structured program head and so I like that this team is moving in the right direction. I didn't expect to win more than 3 or 4 games this year, so the season has been a positive despite the awful showing against Tech.
I don't like Anae as an offensive coordinator, but I still need to give Mendenhall more time. The cupboard was extremmely bare outside of a few bright spots.
I'm not giving up on Mendenhall just yet. He needs more time with the players he is bringing in.
