I'm pretty conflicted here. Geno has done nothing during his Giants days which would prevent me from rooting for him. He appears to have been a model teammate this year who has worked very hard.
With that said I also am rooting to see Mac have egg on his face on Sunday after this whole fiasco. If Geno plays great ball then it will almost vindicate him in how he's treated Eli since he's become head coach.
I wish Geno the best because he's worked hard for a second chance; but I want Mac to go down in flames. Not sure I'll have my mind made up on Sunday but I'm conflicted to say the least.
I'm semi-excited to see what a mobile quarterback can do behind this line. Maybe he will extend some drives, limit his mistakes, which in turn will keep the defense off the field. Not expecting anything, but I will tune in nonetheless to root for my team. Giants pride win or lose.
Still cannot understand the emotional crazy reaction against Geno. Last I checked backup QBs do not decide to bench players. Eli's situation was never going to end well--it did not have to be this bad for certain, but it was going to end, like Phil Simms and every other good/great QB who served a team well and got old.

Nobody is reacting against Geno. It has about zero to do with Geno.
But I look at he and Eli as entirely separate entities - nothing that happened with Eli had anything to do with him.
I understand that him playing well would only reinforce a decision that most of us were very upset with, but nothing I think during the game is going to change the outcome so I'll be happy for him if he plays well even though I'm still going to be annoyed about how Eli was handled.
35-0 at halftime with 3 pick 6s.
I am rooting for the Giants to not only lose, but to get embarrassed. Thank you Messrs. Mara, Reese and McAdoo for turning the Giants into such a sh*tshow that I have to root for them to be embarrassed so that in the long term it ensures McAdoo and Reese are gone and that there is an outside chance that Eli starts more games for the Giants.
Unreal.

Planned for six months to take my sons. Planning to root like hell for the Giants and whomever they have on the field. Hoping for a win.

I guess we have been reading different posts then because I have seen him trashed repeatedly and also read several posts from people who state they are rooting for him to fail , get sacked, get knocked out of the game and on and on. Perhpas their motive is to somehow strike out against the management, but that sure as hell is not what they are saying.
But with this current group of coaches, the GM and a fair amount of the players, right now, I'm probably a bigger eli fan - as he's one of the few to exhibit class.
Heck, even in the 70's, the players were likeable even if they weren't that good. I could watch Van Pelt, Mendenhall, Jeter and others all day long even if a loss was assured.
I have a difficult time watching Apple, JPP and most of the defense, and with the shitshow the offense is - that's horrific too.
While I am not rooting against Geno but I'm sure going to miss #10
A guy like Eli Apple is very hard to root for and there are a few others too.
Ultimately, it's in our best long-term interest for the Giants to just lose the game so we can get rid of McAdoo and turn the page. But I won't root against Geno or hope he has a miserable day. I'd like to see him play reasonably well even if we still ultimately lose the game (which I have no doubt we will)
This means I should root for the Giants to lose. I do not know if I can though, so I likely will not watch. I could care less about Geno specifically.
How do you want that and root for them to play well.

Why would I waste 3 watching Geno and the Dreck play?
Geno isn't going to cover up the problems we have. We have a bunch of WRs running 4.6 40's. Our line can't give a QB 3 seconds to find someone and can't create a hole to run though. Joe Montana couldn't cover up these problems.
but I won't root against Geno. This isn't his fault.
Unfortunately most of us think the problems on offense run a lot deeper and expect the offense to co tongue to struggle with Geno and Webb
But every intelligent Giants fan hopes that Eli was the problem, even though reason might tell them otherwise. Because if Eli is the problem, then it can be fixed
Go Jimmy G!!!!
These next five weeks are simply showcase events. Maybe root for players to do well, but not well enough where it leads to points.
Geno should be auditioning for other teams and Webb should be auditioning to keep a spot at Jints Central...
Love to see a W ..but would John Mara really be dull enough to think that beating an awful D in Oakland would prove macadoos system? Let's pray not.
Next season-
If we get new GM. New HC. Assuming Manning to Jags garnering picks.. Build the holy bejesus of the lines. Grab an all world rb,lbs.
Would it bother me to see Geno get a chance in a deal like that? Not really.
