Perhaps I've missed it, with the media and fans out for blood regarding the handling of the situation, but I'm left with a sense that the players haven't exactly jumped to Eli's defense. Kind of odd, since Eli's been the franchise QB for over a decade and this should be his team.
a wrong read on my part? malaise on the team? Under reported/commented on because folks would rather bitch about McAdoo?
If we are in games going into second half, you will probably see a better effort.
unfortunately that is the mantra...
I thought about this last night. The only two players who can hold their heads up and look management in the eye are Jones and Tomlinson . Everybody else shares blame. Everybody else on this team has , at times, been a total fucking disgrace . Some more frequently than others. Some like Flowers, determined to improve yet failing . Attitude good, performance often not .
And here is JPP, who was blocked the entire Tampa Bay game by tight ends. And he has some sort of platform? Unreal .
I sensed this as well.
Look, this team is a shit show. Most everyone is thinking about their own employment, they have to choose their word and reactions very carefully. In their minds, Eli has been paid and has a strong history with the Giants and NFL history and if they part with Eli, he will get a new gig. Most of the locker room is wondering if they have a job next year.
After a while they check out on it.
During Eli s press conference. Did that sound like a locker room that was upset about the situation.
Letting Eli play every snap until the end of the season and not knowing if Webb or Geno have the tools would be reckless. If Webb and Geno prove they can't do any better the Giants will draft a QB and Eli will play until his contract is up or the rookie outplays him. This actually makes the rest of the season watchable.
Kennard(?)
