I've officially joined The Dark Side

shockeyisthebest8056 : 12/3/2017 8:35 pm
No, not the group that wants McAdoo and Reese decapitated in an abandoned New Jersey field. I've joined the Go Terps "It's dumb to spend this much money on JPP" group. Jason Pierre-Paul's effort today was disgusting. I could even understand if the rest of his teammates were taking it easy too, but LC is killing himself out there... Snacks is playing with a ton of injuries... DRC is trying to run down guys from 30 yards back. At least I can recall plays OV tried to make or almost made. JPP is giving complete shit effort for a guy making a ton of money and a supposed team leader. While I've been annoyed with Eli Apple since day 1 of the season, are JPP's teammates going to call out his bullshit in a film session? Look at him during this Raiders' rushing TD.
Exhibit A - ( New Window )
JPP has mailed it in all year

It is shameful.
Doesn't matter...
Vinny from Danbury : 12/3/2017 8:37 pm : link
we're stuck with them at this point. No way we are swallowing Eli's dead money, and another big guaranteed contract this off-season. Those players are basically assured jobs next season after this Eli debacle happened. Heck, they weren't going anywhere before that either. lol...
Lots of our defenders, including the LBers.....
Simms11 : 12/3/2017 8:38 pm : link
couldn’t get off of blocks. We need better LBer play too. We need guys that can shed!
When a man shows you who he is,
Mr. Bungle : 12/3/2017 8:39 pm : link
believe him.
this was a fist guess
Enzo : 12/3/2017 8:39 pm : link
by many folks here. It's not like he was reliable and durable even before the fireworks mishap.
Couldn't agree with you more!!
OC1973 : 12/3/2017 8:39 pm : link
This guy is stealing money!! He got paid and now gettin fat off hat big contract. We could get better effort from anyone at this point. 16 million a year for this?!?! When is the attention gonna be on him?
Reese

the ever savvy businessman. another stellar move
Ignore all bad play...

We are playing for the future.

Losing = winning.

bw...what do you think of JPP going forward? He just doesn't seem to have any "quick twitch" to his game this year. Can he rebound?
Did anybody ask JPP if he usually had this much difficulty
SHO'NUFF : 12/3/2017 8:48 pm : link
against Newhouse during practice?
Whether due to injury or lack of effort or some combo thereof
mfsd : 12/3/2017 8:52 pm : link
JPP has been the functional equivalent of a blocking sled most of the season
I am very embarrassed
idiotsavant : 12/3/2017 8:59 pm : link
When JPP blew his hand off I was the first one to say he could and would still play.

And I stuck up for his ability and character throughout his recovery. First year was pretty good!

Some of you said that once he got his contract he would stop working out summers and mail it in. I just couldn't imagine almost loosing it all, working aaalllll the way back.

Then dogging it.

Guess I was wrong.
JPP's most memorable play this season
SHO'NUFF : 12/3/2017 9:00 pm : link
is him yucking it up in the locker room during Eli's sad interview.
Short list of guys who should be retained:
ryanmkeane : 12/3/2017 9:07 pm : link
Beckham, Shepard, Engram, Snacks, Tomlinson, Vernon, Jenkins, Collins. Anyone else?
Watching the game I was thinking
Chef : 12/3/2017 9:17 pm : link
JPP was invisible.. he went against Marshal Fucking Newhouse?! This performance?! Awful.
I posted this a few weeks ago .
NikkiMac : 12/3/2017 9:22 pm : link
.
I'm guessing that
SLIM_ : 12/3/2017 9:26 pm : link
JPP has a significant injury and probably shouldn't even be playing. People were talking about how impresseive that he was looking.
Retain Ellison, Wheeler, Flowers, Jones.
CT Charlie : 12/3/2017 9:40 pm : link
Maybe Pugh, but he may be expensive. (Let's hope his injury history keeps his price down.)

WTF? Hinkie was losing on purpose.
We're stuck with JPP
djm : 12/3/2017 9:50 pm : link
But I think he like a lot of other players here will play well when the situation fosters better play. Yes that's an excuse probably a weak one. I've seen great nyg defenders play like shit before in toxic situations only to bounce back. Hopefully these turds get it together next year.

If we find out he's playing significantly restricted due to injury, I'll certainly apologize. Watching him today, his "want to" seemed to be far less than that of his teammates.

there were earlier reports that he was playing through a few injuries. he has been dinged or somehow compromised at other points during his career as well, and with the half a hand thing, it was probably not a great decision by reese to throw all that money at him. JPP would be more effective as a rotational guy at this point.
This is what happens

When you don’t draft well. You’re forced to overpay for risky FAs to fill holes.

Indeed. And so should we.

Which part of getting the best draft pick doesn’t make sense to you?
I was as angry as I’ve ever been about football
Giant John : 12/3/2017 10:19 pm : link
When JPP was drafted. I thought he would be a very mediocre player. I was correct and I’m still pissed about it. It’s in the threads of the corner forum if anyone can go back that far.
He has his money and that’s what he cares about.

the giants very likely don't get to, or win, SB 46 without JPP. just saying.

except there's no "process" here. This was all a mistake. It's sorta of a big difference.
Wait...
Go Terps : 12/4/2017 11:09 am : link
I was told that he and Vernon generated a lot of pressures.

We spend more at defensive end in the NFL than any other team, and the last two years we've gotten 25.5 sacks combined from Vernon and JPP.

I tried to tell ya...

LOL. I am sure you were just absolutely seething over his mediocrity in 2011.

It's one thing disagree with his current contract, his production this year, and his role moving forward.

It's another to paint a player who was very productive and a big part of a championship team as mediocre based on your initial opinion.

Vernon is a very good player. Even this year he stands out even among the garbage we are watching.

JPP might be another story. He looks terrible this season. Hopefully he bounces back.
