Listening to NFL Network, she mentioned the DRC suspension as a big mistake by Mac. Said DRC tried to insert himself into the game while injured, i.e. play injured and Mac responded by saying "What the f*** are you doing?" and it escalated.
She said this was received very poorly by the locker room and played a role in the firing.
Thought this deserved its own thread.
That's been my lasting impression of him, both as OC and HC. He's never talking to anyone.
You have to have people skills to be a HC or OC in the NFL.
No. That's why I posted it. Some truths are coming out, it sounds like.
Yup...he was one of the guys always busting it to try and catch guys on long plays. Same with Collins
More will Come out Like this. Character comes out in trying times. This guy pretty much made one mistake after another when things went sideways
She also is a great follow on Twitter and will respond to your tweets
You have the wrong league, buddy. DRC stays out there if the doctor allows it. On this matter , what is different from when Parcells found out that Mark Collins was playing with a broken ankle against the Rams in the 89 playoff game , (Flipper Anderson) ? Like many things that happened to McAdoo, what he thought , said and did will end up being regarded as correct . His manner and the fact that he didn't have the chops to do so is what did him in.
Ben McAdoo was never truly the HC of this team. He was a caretaker . Guys like Parcells, Reeves and Coughlin would have told these people to piss up a drain pipe when they questioned their authority .
Spagnuolo is a Mara suckhole. There is a good chance he will be named permanent HC at some point. Already we're hearing the dreaded "player's coach" description .
Fear these days like none other if you are a Giant fan. They might be sinking into a slough of despair for many years .
McAdoo's problem is not WHAT he did, but HOW he did it; absolutely poor people skills.
Yes, he was correct in not letting DRC back into the game but Ben was the "adult" in that instance and should never have let the situation "escalate", especially when the player was trying to HELP his teammates.
The Manning situation was obviously more of the same.
