Met Ben and his family back a year ago

GMAN4LIFE : 12/4/2017 12:06 pm
i have talked and met his family a year ago. His kids go to the same swim school as mine.

Now i will say McAdoo was a horrible horrible coach. Pretty shiity manager of football players and couldnt handle it.

but as a father, the guy is great. He is so attentive and pushes his kids to not be afraid and just do your best.

sucks to see all the hate for the guy when you know the other side and quite frankly we are all passionate for the team we love. Hell i am because i love the giants. But i forget how great he is when i see him with his kids.

and im trying to say is, there is another side as in the person to all of this. hate the coach but respect the dad
I blame Mara and Tisch
dpinzow : 12/4/2017 12:07 pm : link
for elevating McAdoo to a position he wasn't ready for yet

I guess he has more time to be a good dad now so that’s good.
Not everyone is cut out to be an NFL head coach

and this isn't personal animus toward McAdoo... but something changed between this year and last with him. The move obviously needed to be made.
I blame peter

and his principle
Come on now, the guy was an arrogant douche

He has a multimillion dollar severance coming his way. I don't feel sorry for him one bit. He brought this on himself
McAdoo was a bad fit for the Giants

That's on Mara. I am sure McAdoo is a good human being and he will certainly have a job next season.
He may be a great guy in real life
montanagiant : 12/4/2017 12:10 pm : link
But he gave this franchise a black eye that will never go away. My biggest issue with him was the constant act of blaming others while completely ignoring his own plethora of mistakes
I am Sure Mac is a good guy and father

but his success as an OC was directly related to OBJ and Eli, his success last year was because of the defense.

It wasn't because of anything he actually did. OBJ covered up a lot of the deficiencies on this offensive unit.

Eli adapting to the WCO late in his career was a big thing for any offensive success.

Nice people get fired all them time

You need to have the skill set to do the job.
Great father and a nice guy are not on the list of required skills.

Good father? Fuck you! Go home and play with your kids. You wanna work here - close! You think this is abuse? You think this is abuse, you cocksucker? You can't take this, how can you take the abuse you get on a sit? You don't like it, leave. I can go out there tonight with the materials you've got and make myself $15,000.

Lits of people are good to their family and shitheads to the world at large. We all saw how this guy conducts himself, and how he dragged manning through the mud all season

This is as much about him as it is football. Fuck Mcadoo.

Agreed. The way he handled the Eli situation proves your point. Does GMAN4LIFE really believe he knows this guy that well? Matt Lauer was a really nice guy too!

I'm glad he's a nice guy to his kids. But that has what to do with his ability to be in charge of the Giants?

True enough. When will you post facts?
Anybody wishing personal ill on McAdoo needs perspective.
an_idol_mind : 12/4/2017 12:29 pm : link
That said, as a professional the guy earned his place in Giants infamy with this season.

Yea and what I'm really pissed about McAdoo...
M.S. : 12/4/2017 12:33 pm : link

..is the shit-ass O-line he put together along with the shit-ass LB group he put together along with the stable of running backs he put together along with wasting such a high draft pick on Eli Apple.

Ooops, sorry, wrong guy.

I guess what I'm saying is the guy deserves a certain amount of personal invective given how he treated Eli, not how he ran a football team. That's my problem with this guy. It wasn't necessary to handle it the way he did. I thought it was his way of proving the problems with the offense were Eli's not the offensive design philosophy. If only we could get a more mobile QB to run it, like Geno, you'll see I was right.
Generally speaking
eclipz928 : 12/4/2017 12:43 pm : link
The way that a person presents himself in a few moments around his family does not give a complete picture of who that person is.

Just the same, the way that a person presents himself on tv or in a few moments during a press conference is also not a full representation of that person.

You don't know a person unless you know them.
I don’t hate him as a person wish him well
eli4life : 12/4/2017 12:45 pm : link
But despise him as a coach big difference
.
arcarsenal : 12/4/2017 12:48 pm : link
Who Ben McAdoo is off the field doesn't really interest me. All I cared about was his impact on the New York Giants - and his impact was very shitty. So, good riddance.
the thing that still astounds me
mdc1 : 12/4/2017 12:52 pm : link
is why this team continues to get burned with guys that have not had previous experience at that position. This guy went from QB specialist to OC to HC in a pretty rapid succession. In over his head, comes to mind for me and that was a discussion topic upon TC's exit.
