information he got once this all went down? I bet we hear all kinds of stories about the teams dysfuntion now. Still to this day I find it weird that McAdoo was the one discipling DRC, JJ, etc. and not Spags. Clearly Spags and Mac didn't see eye to eye.

of the resons he flopped with the Rams.
Yeah cause the RAMS won so much after SPags before 2017.... oh right they did not.
and your point is that Spags is absolved? Okay, he went to the Saints and had 2 histoircally bad defenses. 2 more with the Giants. He's proven incapable of developing a scheme to create a whole that is better than the sum of the parts. He can't control his players. Players don't improve under his tutelage, some regress. He's a 1 trick pony. Give him 6 or 7 Pro Bowlers to rotate on the DL and his defense can win games. Sans that he's a flop. buh BYE

I agree. To me spags is an average D.C. And that's probably being kind. He's got the ring, good for him, but he's presided over some shitty defenses here. People don't allow for any passes to be given to Reese because his success came long ago. Ok fine. What about spags? Super bowl 42 is a long time ago. 2008 is a long time ago. Since then it's been a mixed bag for spags. Actually it's been bad except for 2016.
Spags can go too when this season ends.

Are you really boiling his career down to one year and also downplaying a super bowl win that was led by his defenses? First of all, that's madness to do. Secondly, find me all the coaches in this league that are handed garbage rosters and spin it into gold. You're not going to find many. If what we're accusing him of is not being on Belichick's level, that's a pretty mild offense.
People love to parrot that year with the saints because it's easy, except that it ignores a ton of context as to why that defense and every defense new orleans has ever fielded for all of the Brees/Payton run has been garbage.
I'm not sure what fans expected of the Giants defense in 2015 given that they had zero talent, but apparently there's a convenience store somewhere that sells coaches who can turn rocks into gold ingots with one preseason to prepare.
And don't confuse me disagreeing with some bad takes as saying he's should be a hall of famer, but it's pretty damn clear you can win with this guy.
If you bring in a new coaching staff spags is likely gone. And they are bringing in a new staff. I'd make peace with that if I'm you.
Ergo. Spags may or may not stay, depending on preferences of those two.
You have to give new GM and HC some juice here.

Finally, someone else that agrees with me. I have been saying almost exactly this for a while now. This is a guy who has had mediocre to awful defenses with a couple of exception seasons where the DL was absolutely dominant. Granted, with that dominant DL, the other personnel hasn't matter as much. But, without completely dominating DL play, his schemes, coverages, etc. just don't work. They don't work to the point that he is responsible for a few of the absolutely worst defenses of all time.
Finally? Mostly everyone agrees with you. You're not the hipster that discovered Mumford before they were cool.
