But the impact at the stadium was something in his conscious awareness?
Talks out of both sides of his mouth.
Yeah, I don't understand that either. Why not just say, "of course, the fans are extremely important to me and the other owners of the team"? What's the harm?
Mara just said he called Manning this morning to give him a heads up Â
Heard the fans and got their unhappiness but they didn’t make the decision because of that, per se. No reasonable owner would fire a coach and GM on fan say so alone. (And if you did you’d never admit it.)
but I believe it impacted the timing of the decision. I think he intimated that it was a factor. And, it probably is best for Ben for him not to have been at the next few games.
Mara said he wants to win, not to see Webb or other QB's Â
Thought Mike kind of ran out things to ask Mara at the end there. I really like the way Mara answer the question about OV. Mara seemed very genuine and forthright in his support of OV.
The rest? Well, I don't think Mara is being entirely forthcoming on what the heck went on with the Eli thing. But, its water under the bridge now, he's clearly made the necessary move to let go JR and BM.

But you don’t say you’re acutely aware of the reaction that both McAdoo and Reese would cause at the stadium, “especially with three home games.”
I’m not saying he succumbed to the mob, but the mob sure added a boatload of fuel to the fire and 100% led to the immediate ouster of both.
I’d really like to hear him speak plain and not contradict himself because it might diminish the image of leadership and control.
So it looks like Mac screwed up the communication by not circling Â
back with management when Eli balked. They expected Eli to be ok with the plan, he wasn't, so Mac just let him sit out. Mara seemed to say that he initially backed the plan, but insinuated that when Eli balked they he would have redid the plan. Sounds like Mac should have told Eli to hold on, and then talked to Reese or Mara again.

My guess is he had previously made the decision to fire them but was forced to act now as opposed to the end of the season.

If Mara expected to micromanage the process so much, he should have given McAdoo more explicit instructions. He can't have it both ways, if he simply made a suggestion to McAdoo/Reese, then he can't complain about how it was carried out.
RE: RE: RE: The fan outrage didn’t impact the decision Â

That’s the definition of being influenced by outside parties.
I still love the Giants. But, I don't think anyone can pretend this is the class organization of the NFL any longer. Likewise, it isn't the model organization. Clearly, they have done some things right to win 4 SBs and get to 1 other. But, the leadership/ownership leaves a lot to be desired.

His kneeling during the anthem. Mike, as usual, was pushing his political agenda, but Mara defended him by saying he walks the walk, has a father who is a retired police officer, etc.

Also said he called Eli, but Eli had already heard it on the radio.

I want to win too. Starting next year.
Not having a plan for Webb is beyond silly...

Will talk to Spags about this. Not sure how that synchs with benching Eli every 2nd half.

Absolutely. Did we waste a third round pick on Webb? Do we need a rookie qb? There's only one way to find out.

What a crazy year!

Would have been Beningo at that time.
Bro this Eli thing is making me delirious. What a disgrace bro. You gotta fire that McAdoo guy bro.
