Some of the names on there would be terrible.
Mike Smith would be horrible
Breeze_94 : 12/4/2017 5:37 pm : link
Did the oddsmakers watch the Bucs game against the Falcons the other week? Mike Smith continuously allowed his defense to get torched by Matt Ryan and Julio Jones by playing soft-zone coverage and leaving only 1 guy on Julio. 0 adjustments made.
Woof
Greg from LI : 12/4/2017 5:40 pm : link
There's maybe 3 guys on that list I'd have even moderate interest in. Scott Linehan - is that a joke??
Who I'd like :
old man : 12/4/2017 5:41 pm : link
Reich...Shaw...or Field(whoever HE is).

And I will be wrong as to the actual pick.
The field looks quite attractive

Reich is an interesting name
j_rud : 12/4/2017 5:42 pm : link
Giants will be developing a new QB and he's clearly done a great job with Wentz

Shurmur at +2200 as well. What this guy has done with Keenum/Bradford has been incredible.
Mike Smith?
RottenApple : 12/4/2017 5:45 pm : link
Holy shit, give me Ray Handley.
isn't Reich the guy that
markky : 12/4/2017 5:47 pm : link
had the biggest comebacks in a game in both the NFL and the NCAA?

He’s also the guy that consistently has spit lodged on the side of his mouth.
Reich also Boomer's best buddy
kinard : 12/4/2017 5:59 pm : link
..Esiason will be pushing for him non-stop on the radio starting tomorrow (and condemn every other potential candidate).

Interesting name and has previous experience. Bring in a well-established DC with him and we might have something. If Quinn survives this, he clearly has pictures of owners!
Little Bill would give his coaches his blessing I bet but
Blue21 : 12/4/2017 6:18 pm : link
can't imagine they would want to come to this train wreck. Patricia doesn't do anything for me anyway. DC? yes HC? no thanks
Mike Smith
Big Rick in FL : 12/4/2017 6:20 pm : link
Will be out of the NFL before he gets a head coaching job. His Defense has a ton of high picks and talented players yet they suck balls.
It's gonna be McDaniels
Big Rick in FL : 12/4/2017 6:21 pm : link
With Nick Caserio as the GM.
Nothing like restoring confidence with the fan base
moespree : 12/4/2017 6:26 pm : link
That you know what you're doing, by hiring Mike Smith.
Frank Reich?
section125 : 12/4/2017 6:29 pm : link
I think he'd be pretty good, even if just the OC...
Could you imagine Harbough
Bill L : 12/4/2017 6:31 pm : link
In this franchise?

This wouldn't be a bad start IMO. Bring in 2 guys who are tied at the hip sort of like San Fran did with Lynch and Kyle Shanahan.
I still don’t get why people think McDaniels will be good
bradshaw44 : 12/4/2017 6:46 pm : link
All of the sudden. Brady and Belichick make everyone look better then they are. Give me Shaw, Cowher or even Gruden. Definitely want an old school coach if Eli is staying two more years.
Matt Patricia is a hard guy to evaluate
Ira : 12/4/2017 7:01 pm : link
because BB is a great defensive guy.

This

People don't understand the role mid management plays in selling the team philosophy of how things work and the image management wants to portray.

Yes, the coach and the GM are mid management.

They blew their wad over the past 2 weeks.

I will take either one.
He doesn't seem to be a popular choice
NyquistX3 : 12/4/2017 9:29 pm : link
but it sounds like Spags has a real shot. Runner up last time around and Mara loves him. FWIW, I think he's a good coach but understand why most people don't want to see him hired.
My money is on
mikeygiants : 12/4/2017 10:22 pm : link
Patricia. Gut feeling.
god, that list sucks
Greg from LI : 12/4/2017 10:27 pm : link
Mike Smith - meh
Josh McDaniels - hell no
Frank Reich - maybe
Teryl Austin - meh
Matt Patricia - no
Dave Toub - who??
Scott Linehan - lulz
Jim Harbaugh - yes, but not likely to be available
Jim Schwartz - asshole. No.
Pat Shurmur - maybe
Brian Kelly - hell no
Jon Gruden - no
Bill Cowher - gimme a break
David Shaw - meh
Nick Saban - not leaving Bama
Give me
Jon in NYC : 12/4/2017 11:00 pm : link
David Shaw.
Pat Shurmur gets my vote.......
Simms11 : 12/4/2017 11:18 pm : link
He’s been a Head Coach before, nothing notable in Cleveland, but he’s a very good OC and has been very successful developing young QBs too. He would improve this offense immediately IMO. He would then have to bring in a defensive guy to run that side. He would probably put in an OC he’s comfortable with and somebody that knows his system, perhaps the current QB Coach with the Vikes.

With that said, and if we don’t draft a QB in the first, I would then inquire into a trade for Teddy Bridgewater. I’m sure the Vikes are not going to keep Keenum and Bridgewater.
totally uninformed guess
bc4life : 12/5/2017 8:57 am : link
Bevell and he brings in Barrow as DC.
I would expect Schwartz and Shurmer
Section331 : 12/5/2017 8:59 am : link
will be higher on the Giants' list.
Schwartz
bc4life : 12/5/2017 9:00 am : link
as DC, but HC what's the argument for that?
Seattle is always in the hunt
bc4life : 12/5/2017 9:02 am : link
drafts fairly well and Carroll says he grooms his assistants to be HCs.
