Everybody can have an opinion on how Eli’s situation was handled, but pretending he isn’t part of the problem is rediculous. Smith played well. One play in particular where he escaped the pressure, rolled right and threw a downfield strike should have shown everyone what we’ve lacked for years. The Giants are years away from having an OL that can allow an immobile pocket passing QB with limited athletisim to succeed, so move on. Why start a rebuild with an aging QB who has a year or two left at most? That’s exactly how losing years get extended.
It's not just about Eli and it won't be fixed by picking a guy that's a bit more mobile.
Actually he probably is.
Good luck with this post.
Meanwhile, any guy they install as its future quarterback NEEDS A REALLY GOOD LINE. It's just a good idea to build one, no matter who plays the position.
Good luck with this post.
Clearly he's a talented man of integrity.

There are zero good QB's in the NFL that are run first. The best guys are the guys who by more time by moving around, like Rogers. However guys like Peyton, Eli, Brady, etc. are all the top guys who don't move that well. Cam and Wilson are the best "mobile" guys, but they can also be pocket guys.
Geno didn't play badly; but what was made clear was that the offensive issues stretch far beyond the QB position.

It must be because of the two QB s that played the Super Bowl last year, oh sorry that is my mistake it was Brady and Matt Ryan two relatively immobile QBs.
ditto
I feel Eli in that story.
can't afford to be made to look ridiculous!
Yea overnight right by the time they put a decent line together Eli be time to go !!!!!!
Why do people keep blaming his salary for them not signing OL?
They could have signed Andrew Whitworth and others but Reese thought what he had was good enough...

Why is it so hard to understand that a QB as unathletic as Eli is a detriment? Really good Olines are a rarity. A QB must be able to run away from pass rushers and advance the ball up the field in open space. Eli can't do that. He is also not good hitting short passes in stride or running a screen pass. The Giants give away routine plays other QBs can make because Eli can't make them.
Does he need to ripeat himself?
...in the 2018 Draft.

The league does seem to be moving toward mobile QBs, BUT—and this is a huge BUT—there’s a gulf of difference between a “really good Oline” and the bottom dwellers that Eli’s been playing with. An okay line for the past few years might have made all the difference.
Tom Brady. Mobile??

I dont buy into a pocket passer isnt the answer. Geno proved yet again the issue was the Oline. The same oline everyone has been bitching at for years. the same years everyone jumped on Eli and said his skills were gone. The pass few years it wasnt the starting QB, yes Eli has had Eli moments, but mostly it was the the poor drafting, the lack of signing good personal during free agency, and the shit poor Coach play calling that couldnt score 30 point.

Impossible to prove from the confines of my sofa, but it's what worries me.
Look i aint saying Eli isnt above blame, but you say its a team sport, I agree, its just 75% of the team on offense sucks. the play calling sucks.. the coach sucked. I am not happy when i see Eli's pass go over someones head, or receivers not even in the area. I can admit i also dont know what play was called, was it the QB or was it on the receiver. Do these guy know what route they are supposed to be running? Im just saying it is a team, and its more then the QB play at blame. I cant remember how many times i hear, you build a team around the QB strengths and weaknesses.Reese and McAdoo, didnt do that. Thats why Eli, Geo and who ever else they try to put behind the line will be just as bad every time.
