...and turned it into a 5-11 mess. McAdoo inherited a mess and left a slightly bigger mess, after raising hopes with an 11-5 season. Anyway, they are both done. No need to kick them, or pretend that replacing their vowels with asterisks will ward off the evil eye.
Actually, Bill Sheridan's defense was top half of the league in yards allowed (though they gave up a ridiculous number of big plays, IIRC). The worst Giants defenses ever came from Spagnuolo.

Losing is NOT why we don't use RH's name. RH was a jerk. He was a good assistant coach. He became a jerk when he suddenly became head coach when Parcells left and Belichick was unavailable.
RH as head coach, refused to take responsibility for his losses and tried to cover up his inadequacies by restricting the normal outflow of information to the media. He made other non-football changes to the normal operations which started to become surreal and did not sit well with the players or ownership.
He was an embarrassment to the Giants' good name and to BBI. That's why we don't use his name.
I really loved the 2016 team. Good game time coaching and an amazing defense.
It's a shame he couldn't build off of it.
Giants DC 2009. worst defense ever.

..at the time. CC Brown *shudders*
He had one bad year with the Giants as DC...2015, Coughlin's final season. And it wasn't the worst ever.
