NFL MVP(aka offensive player of the year) so far...

Keith : 12/5/2017 10:26 am
To me, its a two person race up to this point.

Tom Brady and Russell Wilson. You can def make the case that Seattle would be much worse without Wilson than NE would be without Brady. Seattle might have 2 wins with an average QB, specifically one without escapability.

You can make the case for Antonio Brown who is on pace for 117 catches, 1700 yards and 12 TD's, but in a season with 2 quality QB candidates and no RB candidates, it's doubtful.

When watching the football shows, they all put Brees in the mix, but I don't even think he's the MVP on his team. That running game is unstoppable and it makes his job so easy. He's only been asked to go out and win 1 game. That running game is legit.
Leaving Wentz out of this conversation is

pure bias.
As much as we want to dismiss him and his team

Wentz is going to finish in the top 3 of MVP voting in all likelihood. Let's just hope he crashes hard in the playoffs.
Wentz is clearly a candidate too

Leads the NFL in TD passes, up there in most statistical categories, and while you can argue he’s got a good team around him, he’s a big factor in the Eagles success so far

That said, I don’t see how it’s not Brady right now

Is it bias or maybe just an oversight.

Wentz is in the discussion. He's been great, but he has so much more than the other two guys around him.
Tom Brady is the MVP
est1986 : 12/5/2017 10:42 am : link
Wentz is the runner-up

Wilson has played good but so has Goff, Brees and Wentz who all have better records as of now and IMO have played better than Wilson. I like Wilson's ability to give you that splash play when he extends a play that is broken but I don't think he is the MVP, that defense in Seattle determines how far that team goes, not Wilson.... IMO.
Wilson

Dude is running for his life back there with a garbage OL and running game.
has to be Wilson, Brady, and Wentz...
BillKo : 12/5/2017 10:59 am : link
in the three way convo.

I think it's still to be determined......let's see how the teams do down the stretch.
To me, its between Wentz and Wilson
gmen9892 : 12/5/2017 11:03 am : link
Wentz has the leg up currently, but it depends how each team finishes. If the Seahawks win-out or close, I think Wilson has a legit shot at it.

Currently, Wentz has to be the leader though. He is doing phenomenal things in Philly, as much as it pains me to say. They have played a VERY soft schedule though of late. We will see if they bounce back this week against a tough Rams team.
If Seattle gets into the playoffs...

It's Wilson. And I don't think it's close.

He's something like 90% of their offense and accounted for every TD except one. Their oline is putrid, his RBs are average, his WRs are average, and their TEs are above average.

He's the most unique player in the NFL and drives defenses completely crazy.

Unsung guys who deserve mention: Case Keenan and Philip Rivers

I read somewhere

Wilson has either rushed for/thrown all but ONE Seattle touchdown. If that doesn't scream MVP, idk what does.
How does Wentz have more than Brady?
UConn4523 : 12/5/2017 11:30 am : link
Gronk and Cooks alone are better than Ertz and whoever the Eagles best WR might be, especially in that offense (if you don’t agree it’s at worst a push). Even without Edelman and Hogan they still have other good players like Burkhead and Lewis.

That isn’t to take away from Brady, I just don’t buy this notion that no one is around him. Wilson has infinitely less to work with.
It's Wilson.

Wilson has either thrown or run for 3,430 of Seattle’s 3,994 yards this season, which means he has been directly involved in 85.9 percent of Seattle’s offense. If he keeps up that pace, it would be the highest such number for a quarterback in the Super Bowl era according to the NFL Media Research Group. Wilson has also run or passed for all but one of Seattle’s 27 offensive touchdowns this season—J.D. McKissic’s has Seattle’s only rushing touchdown other than Wilson’s three—meaning he has been involved in 96.3 percent of Seattle’s offensive touchdowns, again the highest percentage in the Super Bowl era.

That's correct.
Wait!!!!

Hadn't BBI long ago concluded that Wilson was overrated and mediocre?

And Wentz should be in the mix.
If a WR is

going to win MVP their numbers have to be better than 1700/12.... not going to happen. I dont even understand the point of this award anymore. It is just the best QB award.
has to be Wilson
Banks : 12/5/2017 1:03 pm : link
as stated no other team is so dependent on one player.
Wilson
jeff57 : 12/5/2017 1:06 pm : link
Take him away, and that team would be 3-7.
Antonio Brown
KWALL2 : 12/5/2017 1:20 pm : link
Has made several sick plays at the end of games to win at least 3 games. He's the MVP of that team and they may have the best record this year. He should get some votes.

He does not have more than Brady. Brady's supporting cast is at least as good as Wentz's, if not better.
Philly's defense
Keith : 12/5/2017 1:32 pm : link
is exceptional, therefore they don't rely on the QB as much, IMO. Not specifically talking about offensive weapons.
I would LOVE to see Brady on the Browns
Stan in LA : 12/5/2017 1:54 pm : link
Then you'd see how good he really is.
I wonder how many seasons Wilson
NikkiMac : 12/5/2017 2:29 pm : link
Has in him because every week he’s running around like Tarkenton taking

Hits like crazy.kid has got stamina that’s for sure .

Wilson would get my vote right now. If you truly want the award to mean what it is intended to, he should win it.
My vote is Wilson
Anando : 12/5/2017 2:52 pm : link
I saw some stat before the SNF game that 83% of their yards is via Wilson - either passing or throwing. He's doing everything himself.
Wilson has not running game
KWALL2 : 12/5/2017 3:53 pm : link
But its a big stretch to say he's doing it himself.

Graham is a mismatch beast and they are using him right this year.

Baldwin is one of the toughest covers in the league.

Richardson is super athletic.

McKissic is a nice mismatch out of the backfield. Did you see his TD this week? He got wide open.

He's got some options and mismatches to exploit with this crew.

Tarkenton had 18 seasons. I'll give Wilson 10-12.
