Giants Way Forward

I don't think it's a lock that Webb should be given starts this season. His development has arguably been hamstrung by McAdoo's bizarre strategy, and I don't think that throwing him into this putrid offense will give the Giants a legitimate look at what they have. Even if he does get some snaps and looks great, that should in no way prevent the Giants from drafting another quarterback if the opportunity is there.

I don't think it's worth starting Eli Manning at this point. Nothing will come of it. Like the writer states, we already know what we have in Manning and Geno Smith. Did the Cowboys know what they had in Dak Prescott before giving him a shot? Or Russell Wilson in Seattle? Neither of them were top round draft picks. Prescott was slated to be the #3 all season before the injuries to their 1 and 2. I can understand the loyalty to Eli Manning and all that he represents, but that cannot influence the decisions that are best for the franchise.

Eli has not been good the last 2 years. He was not good when we were healthy. Yes, the O line has not been good either, but who's has? Other quarterbacks play with lines that are bad too and they manage to make plays. If Webb goes out and plays like complete dogshit, what have you lost? Nothing. You've at least had some time to evaluate him, see what he does/doesn't do well, and decide where he may fit in in the future.

I agree that GM is more important than HC so don't hurry the selection of the former thinking by doing so you may miss out available coaches.
