Didn't see this posted, but I thought it was a very insightful article.
Some key points:
• Don’t get seduced by Mr. Perfect. The Giants have done that before. I am all in favor of going hard after Stanford coach David Shaw, but the Rams couldn’t get him interested last year, and he told me last year that if you’re going to go after him, you’re going to have to convince his wife that your city is better than Palo Alto. (Not likely, was his point.)

• There’s no hurry on the GM search. There’s a rule in GM searches, by the way, which I didn’t see mentioned Monday. Teams cannot raid staffs of other teams until the season of the prospective GM’s team is over. So if the Giants fall in love with Nick Caserio, the Patriots’ director of player personnel, and New England makes the Super Bowl, Caserio can’t be hired untiul Feb. 5, the day after the Super Bowl … which would stunt the search for a coach and perhaps leave the Giants far behind the teams that choose coaches after the season. But, and this is a big but, I do not think that should affect what the Giants do.

I agree, but I do worry about burnout with him.
Lewis is horrible Zimmer was the guy there IMO who made Lewis successful.
OK. Sy, I respect your posts and insights. Are you willing to say more about why you would like to see Lewis here? Thanks.
Didn't fail to mention, but just wanted to highlight the main part of the article which is the HC/GM search
I would still go all in on Saban. I get all the points against him, but I think he could have a massive positive impact on this franchise. He was interested in 2016, I'm sure he still is. Would him winning another championship make it more likely?

LMAO - Lewis was the DC of the great Ravens defense of 2000. Zimmer profited more from that relationship than Lewis did.
This is sometimes waived and the candidate is allowed to at least take an interview prior to the open date.
Of course this will be moot when we get 'Lil Bill as GM/HC for 2018.
I'm worried we will start Eli throughout and have learned nothing about Webb. If that was going to be the case they should have kept McAdoo and Reese on board through the end of the season as the bad guys and kept Eli on the bench for now.
Don't get me wrong, I love Eli and I think he's the ultimate competitor. He wants to win and that's why he didn't want to be sitting on the bench. But I agreed with the original plan, at this point it's about evaluating your roster more than winning.

Lewis sucks as a HC. He's a horrible. How's he done since Zimmer left? Lewis was the coordinator of an insanely loaded team. Not saying he isn't a solid coach but He's no Bill B . Did that D fall apart when he left? Nope
Zimmer has done a great in Minny too. Zimmer also Worked with Parcells. Maybe you should look into Mike Zimmer' career.

Maybe you should give a little bit of credit to the DC of what is acknowledged as one of the greatest defenses of all time. He didn't need Zimmer or anyone else to tell him how to run a defense.
I'm sure Zimmer did a nice job in Cincy under Lewis just like he did a nice job under Parcells in Dallas. I just don't give him an out-sized share of credit for whatever success those teams had while he was there.
