Andrew Brandt on Kevin Abrams

robbieballs2003 : 12/6/2017 6:48 am
On Sirius Ross Tucker was interviewing him and Brandt said that he thinks the world of Abrams. He said he is well versed in the cap, contracts, scouting, et .

I just thought that was interesting enough to post.
Excellent... so let’s keep him in place as a capologist

unless we are totally confident in his broader GM abilities. We don’t need another Peter Principle hire.
so was Mike Tannenbaum. And John Idzik.

Keep him as capologist/asst GM
Brandt was a cap guy too

So of course he feels that way
As long as you have guys you trust

running the scout teams, you can win with a cap-focused GM. At this point, I'd prefer to bring someone from outside the organization, someone who may not be in love with players and scouts who may not be carrying their weight, but there is nothing wrong in principle with going with a capologist GM.
If they bring in a coach who wants control over personnel decisions

Abrams could be the ideal GM as a complement to him.

Accorsi has always had a hard on for Nick Saban and Mara left the door open for a head coach wearing two hats. Think Pioli-Belichick.
