Rap fucking sucks these days. It's such unimaginative, auto-tuned trash. Like a botched cross between shitty club & and shitty hip hop. Drake is awful. I know Kendrick Lamar is crazy popular. I think he sucks too.
Not even a "in my day...!" type commentary. I think there's tons of good music these days...Arctic Monkeys being an example of a sick 21st century band...but rap is seriously struggling right now.
Brb going to throw on Illmatic to wash the shit outta my ears.
But one thing I will say is he seems very sensitive. Every little thing seems to bother him if it's even in a small way negative. Now some people are like that so I'm not blaming him. Everyone is different. My only point is it's not going get any easier as a pro athlete if you let those things bother you. You have to shrug some of it off sometimes.
This is purely speculation on my part, but I would posit that the same personality that makes him highly sensitive to criticism is what drives him to work hard and prove himself on the field. It's tough to separate the two, IMO.
The criticism of Beckham is not because of his passion on the field. We all love that about him.
It's because he pees like a god damned dog in the end zone, gets repeated 15 yard penalties without caring about the team ramifications and kisses a kicking net on the sideline, not to mention gets into a brawl with an opposing DB.
You can't have it both ways Odell. You are either a fiery competitor who respects the game and his teammates like Brady or you are a self-absorbed man-child.
Pick one.
This guy never met a mirror, microphone or twitter opportunity he did not like. If only he had that some obsession with his on field play and going about his business.
Maybe if you add more exclamation points you'll be more convincing!!!!!!!
You make up your own reasons for other people's thinking I don't care or need to address that. As far as AJ Green, who gives a shit, that's just what-about-isms which could go on ad nauseum. If you want to keep making excuses for this clown go ahead, I'm not saying trade him, he just needs to grow up. And comparing yourself to Brady just doesn't fly at this point when you have won exactly nothing!
Just funny to me that you're saying he should show up for playoff games like Eli did...
Eli was absolutely pitiful in his first playoff game. 10 completions, 113 yards, 0 TD's and 3 INT's.
But for fans like you, the book is closed on Beckham after one playoff game. Nevermind the fact that players like Rice. Brown, Green, and countless other high profile WR's had very non-descript playoff debuts.
Just to remind you Eli owns 2 SB MVPs, what does OBJ have most valuable dog-peeing or most moronic sideline show. This guy needs to clean up his act before he compares himself to Brady and fans like you defend it!
Thank you for showing everyone on this thread what a blind anti-Beckham agenda looks like.
Beckham had the most prolific first three seasons in NFL history for a WR. But in your mind, he has nothing but a distasteful TD celebration (in what was a highly charged week across the NFL) and then a series of actions mocking the media for making a big deal out of him tossing the kicking net.
I'm just thankful that you won't be on the Giants' interview list for GM. What a joke of a fan you are.

All-star crew right here.
He's not obsessed with his on-field play? Ok, if you say so.
We weren't but Beckham had to tweet comparing himself to Brady (GOAT?) because he's been on the sidelines and no one is paying attention to him. (Hey, look at me!)
The caption "GOAT chasin" fully implies that he knows he's not on Brady's level. But that doesn't fit your slanted narrative, so why mention it?
He's correct it is a double standard between the two
But it's a double standard of his own creation.
I don't see Brady head hunting a player, I don't see Brady mimicking a dog pissing. You can't view those separately they have to be taken into account if he's comparing both
Wow I didn't think this thread could get any worse.
Yes, he does.
Few things more subjective than music, obviously, but I gave the guy a fair chance after hearing so much praise and I was surprised by how underwhelmed I was. I hated it.
This is considered one of his better songs, no? Ridiculous lyrics and wack vocal effects which are so distracting.
All good if you like it. Again, good music is subjective, and I know he's widely respected by other musicians. But it and so much other contemporary rap just sounds like shit to me compared to Nas, Gangstarr, early Roots, prime Eminem, Common, Tribe, etc etc.

Man, some people are so clueless, yet they talk like they know what they are talking about. This guy busts his a** honing his craft. If you want to knock his ego, fine. If you want to knock his social media activity, fine. If you want to knock his immaturity, fine. To suggest that he isn't obsessed with being a great WR is just plain stupid.
We don't have to get into a music debate on an OBJ thread. But no, that is not one of his better songs. No fan of his considers that anywhere near one of his better songs. It was a radio hit. But if I were ranking his songs, that falls somewhere towards the bottom of the list. Evaluating any artist based on what's popular on the radio is faulty.
If you could poll those artists you mentioned (all great, I agree)), I bet they'd universally agree on the quality of Kendrick. Give Section 80 and Good Kid Maad City a try
I'm not a gratuitous Kendrick hater...I went in wanting to like him because most rap I'm listening to is 10+ years old (new Jay-Z and a couple others excepted).
I'm just really down on the state of rap music right now. Guitar-centric 80s & 90s rock evolved into something different but still solid with your Arctic Monkeys/Queens of the Stone Age/Strokes/LCD/Black Keys/Tame Impala/etc. but I just have not seen the same solid evolution from rap.
I'll leave it at that so as not to further miller a football thread.
Why do people think the idea here is to compare Brady and Beckham 1:1?
It amazes me the way the crux of certain topics just get completely lost on people. Odell Beckham doesn't think he's the equivalent of Tom Brady, nor do any fans.
Sigh..
Anyway - Good Kid mAAd City is a fantastic album. Anyone who disagrees is wrong.

i don't see anyone defending Drake! Drake is one of the worst singers i've ever heard. cannot carry a tune. a male Demi Lovato.
RE: RE: Beckham's demonstrations on the sidelines may resemble
those of Brady, but sideline demonstrations are not the issue with Beckham. It's his behavior on the field that has cost the Giants yardage and, at times, games. Brady has never cost his team yardage or games.
What game has Odell cost the Giants?
The Panthers, 2015. I think if Odell had not allowed himself to be baited, the Giants would have won the game.

They lost game because the defense let the Panthers go down the field in 30 seconds. Odell scored the game tying touchdown, and they scored 35.

RE: RE: RE: We're comparing Beckham and Brady now?
We weren't but Beckham had to tweet comparing himself to Brady (GOAT?) because he's been on the sidelines and no one is paying attention to him. (Hey, look at me!)

What slanted narrative, just calling it like it is, when you compare yourself to a 5-time SB champ, you lose, no matter what caption you may add. You end up looking stupid and bringing ridicule on yourself, but hey at least you're being talked about and isn't that what he desperately needs...attention!

the "grow up" comments... actually should go towards those obsessing over these things...

That was the point, but please focus on the not so relevant points that are unrelated.
I'm focusing on untrue and unnecessary points that detract from the point.
If you said what you said above that's perfect. Not sure why additional details - that aren't even true were provided.
Fair enough. Point taken.
