At 2-10, no game is big and we are all ready for an action packed offseason. But, this game has some juice to me. There are multiple factors:
1. Eli is back under center. Last week at this time we all wondered if he was done playing as a Giant.
2. The stench of McAdoo is gone. Spagnuolo is coaching & Sullivan is coaching the offense (Coughlin guys). It just feels better.
3. Throwback uniforms.
4. The opportunity to put a coffin in the Cowboys season. Misery loves company.
Again, at 2-10 no game is big, but it has that feel.
At the same time, I’m conflicted. This franchise needs fresh ideas & im fully aware of what can happen with interim coaches. The Giants cannot afford to hire another HC who has been an assistant on the prior losing staff. I don’t THINK Mara & the new GM would hire an interim HC, but who knows.
I’m pumped up for this game Sunday & I would have never thought that last week.
Let's welcome Eli back (should've never left) with a victory vs the most annoying fans in the world, well second most.
LOL, Rotten Apple with the best comment on BBI in a very long time.
This
Engram and gallman to Star
The oline to be dominant
The team to give up 4 special teams touchdowns in the 3rd quarter
Webb come in the 4th and look great
Giants lose 35-21
4 tds the result of Quinn
They'd definitely win if this were a movie.
Hahahahaha good one.
That being said, emotion does not win games alone and the Giants are still a bad team. A win is not guaranteed. but the Cowboys are vulnerable and the Giants would like nothing more than to drag them into the dumpster with them.
Throw in the Giants wearing their 1980s white jerseys and Dallas in their blue jerseys, and the aesthetic appeal skyrockets as well.
A win here gives everyone something to feel good about from this otherwise horrendous 2017 season.
They don't need Elliot to run against this defense.....who is going to cover Dez? Whitten may retire after this game, he may never have another one like it...
Dak had not played well.....but with no pass rush, he will extend the play and wait for someone to get open over the middle of this defense.....oh did I mention they have several other receivers on their team?
Won't make any difference who our qb is....Dallas has a pass rush.....if Eli does not have the time to wait for these guys to get open, because the way they run routes, it takes forever to get open...
It will be interesting to see, if it is not a blowout, if Webb gets any playing time as mandated by Mara......
It is not going to be a fun game to watch.......
It's certainly the first game I've looked forward to in a long time, and actually plan on watching.
Kind of allows me to escape the awfulness of this season and be enthusiastic about a game.
For some long time fans, this may be their last Giants season... Everybody wants something to feel temporarily happy about.
Of course, there is no real time to change the offense but we absolutely CAN get back to Giants Football: pound the run and take deep shots off play action. If we dont have the players let them fall on their sword: its a winning strategy in the Northeast.
I’ll be pulling for Spags. Unlike BM, I think he’s got the strategic, innovative mind to out-joust opposing Head Coaches. Would be interested in seeing him paired with a strong-minded OC with a Giants system.
**One note: Giants already going to have a very high pick. Likely top 5 even with win. Could all just set up nicely to land Quenton Nelson who is arguably the best football player (with Bradley Chubb imo) in this draft.
Webb is the goods as a prospect and has the size, toughness & arm strength to excel in a Giants Offense. The Howitzer and tight spiral to drive the ball through the wind. Done want another QB until he proves he cant play.
that was funny...
but it doesn't feel big - the first part of the big change happened on Monday. the second part of the bigness will be when we find our new GM/HC/QB trio.

No excitement for me, really. This season sucks. I won't be mad if we beat Dallas and essentially end their season - but I'd rather just keep racking up the losses. Winning the game won't do anything but provide temporary happiness in a completely shitty football season.

I get it - I just think if you're more concerned with the future of the Giants, a loss would be the better outcome.
Like I said, I really won't be mad about essentially ending Dallas' season. I'm fairly sure if we beat them, they have virtually no chance at all to get into the playoffs.
I'm definitely going to be rooting for Eli. No doubt about it.
But my ideal scenario would be Eli having an excellent game but us ultimately losing.
It's a weird dynamic and an annoying way to watch a football game. But for me, I have the Giants' long-term interests prioritized far above the few hours of satisfaction I'd get out of killing the Cowboys' season.
I am too. I'll definitely admit that. I think the atmosphere is going to be exciting if nothing else.
Never would have thought this would be a meaningless game back when the schedule came out. I thought this was going to be a huge one. So I'm pretty bummed about that.
But yeah - I'd love to see Eli play well.
I could see that.
Just doesn't seem like a winning formula to me
Plus, is there something that makes Dallas so scary all of a sudden? Turns out KC wasn't all so big and scary.
Buuuuut, I think Dallas wins 23-20 in OT.

I hope we win. Fuck Dallas. We can't win 3 fucking games this year that's too many for the tank Brigade? Too bad.
