Terrific win tonight in ugly game vs. OKC. Shot just 30% from three and missed 11 foul shots but still managed to pull it out with great D. Thunder scored 33 in 1st period but averaged just 21 per quarter thereafter including only 16 in the 4th. In Mexico City altitude, Nets simply had more left in the tank than they did. Have won 4 of their last 6 and in 3 of those wins, held opponent under 100. For this Brooklyn team, that’s no small feat. With Atkinson and crew, the little things keep adding up.
The trade with Boston really set the team back, but I'm very impressed at how quickly Marks has been able to put some real talent on the roster and turn the Nets into a pretty enjoyable watch.
The front office turned...
Bojan Bogdanovic
Chris Mccullough
Justin Hamilton
Mason Plumlee
Thad Young
Trevor Booker
Brook Lopez
into...
D'Angelo Russell
Jahlil Okafor
Caris LeVert
Allen Crabbe
DeMarre Carroll
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
Jarrett Allen
Nik Stauskas
Timofey Mozgov
The roster turnover and development of young players has been everything we fans signed up for in this tough rebuild.
Looking forward to seeing the new guys out there
And Allen is looking like a real player- future impact guy
And the only good thing about dlo and Lin out is levert has the ball a lot and is showing why he was a lottery talent
SG- Levert/Crabbe/Harris
SF- Carroll/Crabbe/Stoiskas
PF- RHJ
C- Allen, Okafor
only 1 of those players is advanced/peaked in his career... being Carroll.
that doesnt mean this roster is a playoff or top tier in the future one. But it speaks to them following a process and it working so far.
from a starting point that was a very dark place
Atkinson has these guys playing hard and the system works. He is developing players and I, for one, couldnt be happier with the way this team looks given the Russell injury.
The thing is, its been different guys helping to win each night. You have Dinwiddie, Crabbe, RHJ, Carroll, Levert, all carrying the load on any given night. This bodes well for when Russell does come back.
Levert should also remain in this backup PG role he's thrived in the last few games. His individual defense on Westbrook down the stretch last night was impressive.
I actually think RHJ is even more of a surprise than Dinwiddie. He's basically crash 2.0. He's thriving at PF. Can't believe how improved his offense is, even from Summer League.
