Can We Finally Be Rid of Spags?

I can't recall any poster here wishing for him

I have worried that Spags could win the job, but after today that looks unlikely.

this is the outcome expected...blown coverages, dropped balls, bad play calls...it's not gonna change magically in one week

I don't think that Spags is coming back as HC or DC, but to blame this 4th quarter on him is silly.

Probably. And for once, the team is so bad, you can't say "Things could be worse." Whoever they pick is probably going to do better.

agree 100% This is not just about Spags, it's the Giants as a whole. Players included. They are just bad. Not to say I want to keep Spags because I don't. I think the Giants need a fresh complete overhaul. New OC, DC, ST, and HC.

What the hell did he do all game? Two tackles...3 assists....no one blocked him and he still couldn't get a sack...outside of not being blocked on that play, he never sniffed Dak...

and that most of you have some bizarre need to be "good fans". But if you want to see the Giants win again anytime soon root for them to lose the last 3 games 40-0. Because the Mara's will use any excuse they can cling to keep the Mara tree in place. Only a literal fan revolt has ever gotten them to act in the fans best interests.

I remember when Coughlin was hired and he found out that Bagdad Pat Hanlon had his own TV show. He said "the PR guy has his own TV show"? The next GM is inheriting an owner with the title SR VP Player Evaluation. "One of the owners is the SR VP of Player Evalautuon"? And people wonder why Gettlemen is the favorite for the job and the rest of the front office will probably remain unchanged.

Disagree. On second Dallas TD pass Giants had no one in the middle of the field. Dak saw it and hit the receiver for a short pass that went to the house.

And if that security does seem to sink in with the Eli applause we are likely to have a bunch of nobodies interested in the HC position regardless of the GM choice. The Eli situation needs to be sorted when approach the new hires, as no serious coach wants to be the next McAdoo. Imagine the next HC reporting to Eli next season and maybe developing his replacement...that sounds like a real win. Would rather take my chances with rebuild a young guy and a timeline to do it.

it became increasingly obvious the impact that Collins has when he gets hurt and the wheels fall off.

Nuts.

I like Spags - he's a good guy, but he has some ugly things on his resume and it would be a huge mistake to retain him in any capacity.

Have to wipe the slate clean. New GM, new coach, new assistants. Now is the time.
