How? He’s been kicking the Giants ass for over 10 yrs. I find it very hard to root for the guy at all.
Maybe I didn’t say that right. Of course I root against him...but he’s one Cowboy I respect, whereas I essentially wish career ending injuries on the rest of them. And their fans.
There is no doubt that CTE and a ton of other ailments will outweigh his absolute HoF candidacy.
He is and was a great player. Truly. But he is beat up and is going to suffer tremendously, unfortunately.
If history is any guide, he's got a very tough life ahead of him. Such a shame.
no one is forcing him to continue playing and he had a multimillion dollar per year coaching gig at Tennessee that was his if he wanted it. I will save my sympathy for the people who can't buy health insurance and need to decide between surgery and sending their kids to school.

Christ, it's not an either-or thing. In case it never occurred to you, you CAN sympathize with two (or more) different things.
but i keep reading over and over again here at BBI that if you have money, bad things should happen to you and if bad things do happen to you then, ha, ha, ha, who cares because you have money.
That's a special kind of inhumane and inhuman resentment, IMO.
is an assumption that Witten has a life of CTE and other debilitating injuries and illnesses ahead of him and that it's a shame.
sure, he has taken a lot of big shots in his career, but it's way too early to diagnose him for medical conditions he may or may not have one day.
again, no one is forcing him to play pro football. he can walk away from the game like calvin Johnson, chris Borland or Patrick willis, and have enough money in the bank for 3 generations to come, not even factoring in jobs from a coaching or broadcasting gig that are at his doorstep the second he retires from the game.
I have sympathy for people who deserve it - people who were born with terrible genetic diseases or who are battling cancer or otherwise struggling due to factors completely outside their control. I don't have sympathy for .1 percenters who may or may not have physical or mental issues playing a rough game that they voluntarily signed up for, knowing the risks involved.

Why is Whitten believed to be any worse off than the average NFLer? Â
Granted he has a lot of miles on his treads but plenty of guys take big hits, many of whom are much smaller than him. I don't recall him having any specific injuries or taking any memorable shots
That said, I hate him for all the killer plays against us over the years. (Not that I want anything bad to happen to him)

What OLB have we had during his career that could keep up with him? Or MLB on slants, or S?
what most NYG Linebackers do...nothing.
See you next draft when I say we should probably draft an athletic LB...

And one of the single greatest football players I have ever seen...

I decided not to post it because if I did, he'd surely score a TD against us...
