It was in his "Ones to Watch" segment that he does on Good Morning, Football. He emphasized that it was way outside the box but noted the connections to the organization.
taking 2 star and 3 star kids and coaching them up. Wasn't wildly innovative as far a schemes were concerned. I'm not sure his skills translate to the NFL.
I don't hold Baylor against him as he walked into that mess.
His style of football would translate well to the NFL, and he in the past has done more with less. Baylor is a place that was irrelevant until recently, so getting back to relevancy could be challenging.
Between now and the new hire being announced there will 4,123 Â
coaches being named to fill the spot. Sit back, relax and wait for the announcement. And of course there will be another 4,123 post saying why did they hire this guy and not this guy!
have to say no way he gets an NFL HC anytime soon. One year in the NFL and his college career hasn't even been at the top rung. One year at UCLA and one year at a shattered Baylor program. The rest at the likes of Western Carolina and Temple. No offense to Owls fans but c'mon.
I wondered whether he'd be attractive to the Giants Â
we need to double down on stupid at least a few more times to learn our lesson and revisit the 70's. Not the sure the Eli benching compares to the fumble.
Yes, I mentioned him last week. There were only a few young coaches who you could say potentially had any grooming from the Coughlin years. Rhule was one of them and the Giants liked his work on the offensive line as an assistant and wanted him to get more seasoning at Temple as a head coach. Very much similar to Coughlin as WR coach and then going off to BC.

Not sure if he was overwhelmed at Baylor, or there is still a hangover from the Biles catastrophe, but they were awful this year...

I remember him mentioning a Bicknell.

Thanks, Matt.
