-Lonzo vs Frankie Smokes tonight will be interesting.
-Kanter showed up to the Hawks game in crutches and still played 18 minutes. Gametime decision. Still no THJ.
-NBA G League player of the week? None other than
Trey Burke. (31.3 PPG/5.5 APG/57% from the 3)
-Porzingis on tanking
Porzingis wants to be in the playoffs for the first time. His first two NBA seasons have been over by March 1.
“I don’t believe in it either,’’ Porzingis told The Post regarding tanking. “Every season you have to go with the expectations of making the playoffs. That’s the way to get better. If you do make the playoffs, that experience, you can’t change for nothing. Every player should as soon as you start you career. The sooner you get that, the more you’re prepared for the future. I’m really looking forward to making the playoffs.’’

horse: "me too"
He had a good game tonight, but he's been coming along a bit slowly. There are some good signs there though. For now they're better off with Jack steering.
I haven;t changed my view that he is a three year project: two off-seasons to build his strength and athleticism to keep up with the defensive skills he already has, and the shooting that is beginning to show up. Similar path to KP, at a different position. Only after two years, he will still be a year younger than KP is now.

Frank should be starting.

I agree. All in all, I think they're bringing Frank along intelligently - not pushing him too fast or holding him back. Signing Jack and Sessions in the off season were good moves that are paying long term dividends in Frank's development.
Talk about winning - Section 2 boys HS basketball champions Bethlehem Eagles beat Colonie in a repeat of last years finals.
Sessions is a waste of roster spot.

That's another big win. What a night of winning!

Insurance against Jack getting hurt. Otherwise you would be down to Frank and Ron Baker. Not sure there is anyone we are missing having on the roster for Sessions to be a DNP-CD most nights
Knicks seemed like the first team to finally expect drives by Ingram properly. Porz length was the main factor there.
If we are going to whine about calls though lets not forget about the blatant hold on Lonzo under the basket that was called that gave the Knicks second chance points nearing crunch time.

Lonzo flopped like a pro on that 3 point shot in OT
Lots of role players who would be good pieces for a contending team
Really impressive win- especially with Lee playing poorly. He may drive you crazy, but not having THJ hurts the offense. He's the only guy besides KP who can consistently create his own shot.
And Beasely really took it to Randle down the stretch. I'm a fan of Randle, but that was bad last night.
Lyles 20 and 4 on 7/7, Phil's guy has been playing very well
RHJ 16 and 12, he's no KP but the Nets have found themselves a nice building block
LeVert 16 and 8
Embiid 28, 12 and 8, monster
Butler 38, 6 and 3
Walton was also embarrassed down the stretch coaching. What was he thinking not fouling in OT?
"Luke Walton said they wanted to foul down 4 with just over 30 seconds left after KCP missed the 3 in OT. Message didn’t get to the players. Was really loud in the building, players didn’t seem to hear it." "Whether coaches were yelling to foul or not (and they were), one of the players could recognize the situation and foul there, especially with a foul to give."

Easy to say it after the game oh yeah I was screaming foul
Really didn't seem like anyone had a clue about the foul situation there. Lakers broadcasters didn't realize they had a foul to give. Porz starts lining up at the free throw line not realizing there was a foul to give. Shit all around.
Some good news: Knicks currently have the 12th ranked offense and the 16th ranked defense. The second stat is probably more impressive given where they were last year. And just think what the offense could look like with better PG play and MORE THREE POINTERS!
Frank, my favorite play from him was the shot clock winding down and everyone though he had no idea, then he threw a no look pass to oquinn who finished under the rim, his awareness is awesome..
The thing I loved the most last night from pporzingis was that he let the game flow I feel like that past couple of weeks he forced to much..
Neither team can miss. - ( New Window )

Ntilikina held Lonzo Ball to just 1 point and 2 assists in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Lonzo didn't have a chance against our rook in crunch time.

It isn't just about numbers. It's about the fact he's a gazelle, can blow by people and can rebound. Sure, he keeps making bad passes and his shot looks like he has palsy, but he'll learn to not throw the ball away and will become a sharp-shooter.
To be serious for a second, his metrics place him not just as one of the worst rookies this year, but one of the worst rookie guards of all time. Couple the slow start with his complete ass of a Dad and you have a perfect storm.
Frank on Ball - "Playing against him was exciting. He’s a great player. He’s going to be great. He has size, vision, unbelievable vision of the court. I mean, he can make plays,”
Two fine young men and talented young players. Both have great careers ahead of them.
