It's quite long, and talks about his long history of aggression and violence. Nowadays, he is losing his memory and has random urges to harm himself and others.
Not sure if he had any history of PED or drug use.
What puzzles me is the varying degrees to which athletes experience CTE symptoms. Frank Gifford lived a full life with CTE and was a very successful person off the field. This is clearly not the case for everyone. So what is that factor, that variable that makes CTE a manageable side effect of contact sports (like bad joints and mangled fingers) for some, and a serious mental illness for others? I hate to speculate cause I don't know, but the researches need to examine the effects of football on athletes with a drug use history, whether PED or otherwise.
to the issue of CTE it is too easy here for that to be the blame. JOhnson was an issue already. Is CTE now a fuel for the fire, maybe. But, his history of violence towards women is quite scary. His history of violence in general is beyond a problem to be sure. I doubt CTE is the cause but could be an add on problem to an already underlying issue.
who has a history of violence, there's no way to know if brain disease played a part, and if so, how much. There's no way to know if a violent guy who's been playing football since high school would be a less violent guy if he had never played.
But even violent guys don't normally have 2-year holes in their memory, or forget how they damaged their car, or have random urges to kill themselves. Something is wrong. CTE? Other kinds of mental illness? Hard to know that right now, too.
or maybe, if this study was accurate, it was from using anabolic steroids?

People using anabolic steroids to improve muscle growth and sporting performance are far more likely to experience issues with their memory, according to new research from Northumbria University.
Diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Who knows what is cte or if he was born with mental illness. Either way I came away from that article terribly sad for his daughter jaylen. Not so much empathy towards Larry
i think he was arrested at least 3 times for violent things and 6 or 7 times total. A couple were assaults against females.
I'm hoping we don't see people trying to excuse away their transgressions for CTE

He choked out an ex girlfriend, and there were plenty of other incidents.

That is harsh, it's OK as long as he entertains you on Sundays. I can see CTE bringing about the eventual demise of football.
