He needed a year to learn how to take a snap under center too?
The guy played 35 college games but he needs a year to sit and watch? And to learn the highly difficult skill of taking a snap from center? That's BS.
The team failed to get him ready earlier. That was a big mistake after week 6.
However, he knows the plays. Just 1-2 weeks ago they could have had him ready for several starts. Instead? We put in Geno and go back to Ei. And now he still doesn't get any reps in practice. Solid plan.

RE: You can not learn from a couple of games about a QB Â
If they believe he is the one, you will need to sit Eli and the whole organization needs to back him up through the tough times. He is not going to show anything in 3 games and it could kill his confidence.
Sounds like we get another year of Eli than it will be time to pull the plug and move on to a new QB.
If the Giants don't play Webb significantly these remaining games, they will start down path to becoming Jets. How many QB's for Jets? Webb has been rated as high as the QB's this year. "He is a 1st round talent"according to last years draft scouts
Neither Rosen or Darnold have proven anything. Webb is bigger than both and supposedly has stronger arm. Not sure about mobility.
If Eli went down wouldn't Webb be put in? SO, put him in.
The rebuild will take more than one year, stock up on OL,DL,LB (supposedly good year for OL/DL)
Let Webb play , see what his ability is. GO from there.
Good QB's are always found in later rounds.

I hope you know when they say "he has to learn to play under center" they are not talking about the ability to physically accept the ball from the center.

OR - The Giants are sandbagging the entire league by hiding Webb. They realize they have the next great QB and are hiding him so everyone in league thinks they are incompetent.
Then they can get many many draft picks by everyone thinking they are going QB in round 1.

I REALLY wish this was the case, but sadly I think this is just fruitless effort for Mara to save face by putting Eli back, in addition to Spags wanting to put forward the QB that best gives him a shot of winning games and keeping his job.
and not implying anything about Webb. What was the status of Aaron Rodgers after he was drafted? was he the back up to Farve that first year? I know he was a 1st round pick, and waited 3 years or something to start, but i honestly dont remember if he was the back up right away or not, and not playing didnt seem to hurt him much. I personally dont see anything wrong with Web sitting behind Eli waiting. Granted Id prefer it that Geno wasnt the number two, but i get that Web is a rookie and it will help him in the long run, watching and learning. At the same time the offense sucks bad and is missing so many players , and i can see that being a bit unfair to judge him properly with that too. I get that the we are looking at a top 3 or so draft pick, and of course there are QBs to be had that high, so automatically people expect you to get the top ones available, but are anyone of them a 100% lock on being worth it? I like Webbs attitude, and the time and effort he puts into football, and by all accounts this kid is smart when it comes to the game. Plus seems like he learning from Eli what it takes to deal with the media, and be the face of an organization. I dont follow college football, so i usually read up on the positions at draft time here. How does Webb actually compare to this years QBs? and does being in the nfl for a season give him more advantage over them?
No idea how quickly he came up to speed. The packers lacked everything the year he was drafted. I don't think he saw signifcant time until Thanksgiving in 2007

There is absolutely no doubt that being third on the QB depth chart does not maximize one's development.

You can't be serious. Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Mayfield, and Rudolph all have better skillsets than Webb.
