Says Abrams spoke for the first time today about his candidacy for GM opening.
-Says he will interview before the end of the season.
-Says he is more than just a salary cap guru, well-rounded and involved in all other aspects.
-Says he would like to see Webb in a game before the end of the season, but that's Spags decision.
-Says that Spags has done a great job so far as interim, double thumbs up.

Interim GM Kevin Abrams spoke to media today. Among the topics: He would like to see Webb in a game, the scouting process is business as usual, thinks Eli Manning still has good football in him, wants the full-time job and thinks he is ready for it.

Giants fans will be happy to hear this from interim GM Kevin Abrams about salary cap: "Were healthy. He wont have any restrictions on what we can do based on the salary cap. Well have tough decisions ... but we dont have to make any decisions because of the salary cap.''
Then he ran through a checklist that included
-Previous HC experience
-Age, in his 50's "old enough to command the locker room"
-Prior postseason/Super Bowl experience
No sooner did Mike Smith and Steve Spagnuolo pop into my head as a listener, Dottino went on to name them specifically.
I'm really hoping we look for more than Dottino's criteria above.
I for one would like to see Abrams get the job. I think he is capable of being a quality GM and with a good coach who has input on the draft and player personnel really could develop something nice and long term here.
If Eli is staying and there are hints he sure may be, then a trade down from #2 is in order.
I don't know why but he is just a MEH guy to me. Not knocking your interest just saying for some reason he has not been a guy I really thought could be a good Giants coach. Forget Dottino's wish list, I want a younger who can get things going quickly but command the locker room too.
One guy I absolutely do not want is Jeff Fisher...
However, I could easily see him in Indianapolis or Detroit.

true he's not a big personality, not a WOW name, but definitely competent and a winner.
Landon Collins and Even Engram and Snacks were also part of that personnel regime. Want to get rid of them too?
There's a saying "don't dump the baby out with the bath water."
I know he's not going to name names, it's a touchy subject and not professional way to do it when these guys are still working for you. Just the same - there has to be a way to get him speaking about his thoughts on rebuilding the organization.
"Many fans have expressed a desire for a complete rebuild.
Do you see a need to do that?"
or...
"Many fans have expressed a desire for a complete rebuild.
What would your process of rebuilding the franchise look like?"
something like that.

Yeah, because fans will have say-so in the hiring process. Also, an interim GM is not going to comment on a part owner and the director of scouting.....Abrams is not being interviewed by you or anyone else on this website that we know of.

for another Mara crony. Abrams is part of the personnel regime that got this team to 2-10. GTFO.

Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in awhile. The Marvin Austin's, Clint Sintim's, Adrien Robinson's, Stevie Brown's, Ryan Nassib's and Jernal Jernigan's far outnumber the successes. Good fucking bye to Abrams and take Ross with him.
agree. anyone that has been involved in some of the stuff we have suited up needs to see a door with a sign on it called "EXIT".
Might as well pick a new team then

Wonder if anyone tried to get insights to his thoughts on our Ross and Chris Mara doing personnel evaluations.

Why wouldn't they? Fans got to pick the starting QB. Now they think they can pick every person in the organization.
That should probably include Dottino. He's such a shill.
I'm not sure why this is such a popular sentiment. It was a pretty successful 10 years or so. If i was looking from the outside, you'd think the Giants were the browns based on how the fans have behaved.
The roster needs to be fixed. The idea that nobody knows what they're doing at all is misplaced. They tried to chase a window of opportunity and it didn't work out. They're not Cleveland or some of the other perennial loser ball clubs.
