NFT: MLB rule 5 draft question

I know if you select a player in the draft he needs to stay on the 25 man roster all season or can be sent back to the original team fo 50 thousand. The Mets picked a player and then sold the player to the Royals. Do the royals now have to keep him on the 25 all year?

and I am pretty sure that if a team selects a Rule 5 player but decides during the season that it does not want to keep him, he has to clear waivers before he is returned to his original team and any team that picks him up on waivers has to follow the same rules.

now 100K but yeah, he needs to remain on the 25 man roster all season, and at least 90 days not on the DL. The 90 days can roll over (which is why I love the Burdi pickup for Pittsburgh)
