50/50 split in the parking lot tailgating

BigBlueDownTheShore : 12/17/2017 11:18 am
Pretty good. I thought it would be a heavy Eagles crowd.
And that's pretty good?
redwhiteandbigblue : 12/17/2017 11:38 am : link
In the 35 years or so of going to regular season games I have never seen anything approaching 50% visiting team fans. Not Cowboy games, not Eagles games, not even Jets games.

Considering our team is a flaming bag of dog shit this is a win. Now down in front!
True enough.

But even in the UGH! Ray Handley era (sorry, I just threw up in my mouth), it was never 50/50.
Funny...
Route 9 : 12/17/2017 12:53 pm : link
I walked from Paterson plank road to the Pepsi gate to my seat in 2013 and didn't see one Eagle fan.

Odd for such a "rough and tough fan base"... I guess 12 wins will have the ability for attention?
50/50 is pathetic really.

Way to go, Giants.

1. Hunts were coming off a Super Bowl in the Handley era
2. I’m sure if the script was flipped it’s be 50/50 us in Philly. Recall how many Giants fans were there last December
Most opposing fans I ever remember seeing
weeg in the bronx : 12/17/2017 5:36 pm : link
There were tons of Eagle fans, drunk and chanting.
I sold my tix for the game..
EricJ : 12/17/2017 5:44 pm : link
and don't know whether they were purchased by Eagles fans or Giants fans. No way to know and quite honestly don't care.

Traitor😀
How does this surprise anyone?
EddieNYG : 12/17/2017 6:39 pm : link
The Giants were 2-11 heading into this game.

There are many avenues for ticket holders to LEGALLY sell their tickets online and either break even or make some money on their tickets.

Philly isn't far from MetLife and with easy access to online ticket sales, did anyone really think there wouldn't be a ton of Eagle fans in the building supporting the 11-2 Eagles?
50/50?
section125 : 12/17/2017 6:42 pm : link
Stands looked like 85%/90% Giants.

It wasn't 50-50. It's never been 50-50 at Giants stadium for a Giants home game. Never. But some fans see 25000 eagles fan scattered all over the stadium and mistakenly think the number of fans is higher than what it actually is. It happens all the time. The anomalies always stand out.

And now the bat signal has been sent for Hudson to show up.
So what was the split?
Rover : 12/18/2017 10:09 am : link
70/30 Giants?
.
arcarsenal : 12/18/2017 10:10 am : link
LOL
As heavy, loud and obnoxious a concentration of Eagle fans
regulator : 12/18/2017 10:51 am : link
as I've seen at a NYG home game. At least we were in it from wire to wire, otherwise it would have been very ugly.

If it was Giants 80 to 90%, than that 10 to 20% must have been so deafening that the Giants o-line couldn't hear cadence on that final possession when they had the false start as Eli would say afterwards.

Yeah it was more apparent in the stadium that there were more Eagles fans. The offense was basically playing an away game in their own stadium. They were load and obnoxious.
I expected loads of Phily fans
upstatenyg : 12/18/2017 11:53 am : link
and they delivered.

the highlight may have been 2 girls who marched into the men's room near sec 117 at half screaming we can piss wherever want in your house, go eagles. even the eagles fans in line were amused.

So what was the split?
Rover : 12/18/2017 11:56 am : link
1/3 Iggle or more?

Hey, if the shoes were reversed, the Linc would be the same way.
Hell remember Strahan's INT TD in 1999 when the Iggles stunk?

This was really the first time in the rivalry we have had such a dynamic in play.

There have been bad years for sure, but this one has angered many people for a variety of reasons on top of just the losing.

I don't think the Giants and Eagles have ever played a game this late in a season against each other with the records so incredibly distant from one another. So it is possible we may never see something like this again.

It was like the perfect storm Sunday.
