Defensive End Jason Pierre-Paul

Q: What kind of leadership do you think it shows that yourself, Snacks (Damon Harrison) and (Landon) Collins are fighting through all of these injuries?

A: At this point in the season, probably everybody hurts right now. You just got to fight through it and motivate yourself to keep on going. Let other players see that you’re going and hopefully they will rally around you and keep on rallying around the ball.

Q: Are you planning on playing on Sunday?

A: I’m always planning to play, man. I’m ready to go. I’m getting on the plane tomorrow and we’re going to Arizona and I’m ready to run around.

Q: Are you having new problems with your hand?

A: Nah, I fractured my finger. I basically broke it.

Q: You broke it?

A: Basically. That’s what I just said, yeah.

Q: Which finger?

A: I’m not worried about that. Any more questions about the game?

Q: Compared to what you’ve been through, I guess that’s kind of minor.

A: Yeah, it’s very minor. You know that.

Q: Did it happen during the Raiders game?

A: Who did we play last week?

Q: Philly.

A: Philly? Yeah. Ain’t no sympathy over here, man. I’m going out to play a game and I’m going 110 percent, so they better be ready. So that’s basically it.

Q: Does the experience that you have with the club make it more comfortable for you?

A: Not at all. It’s not going to affect my play, man, at all.

Q: Does having experience playing with it make you more comfortable?

A: With it or without it, I’m going to be the same person. So I’m not even worried about anything. I can protect myself. Like I said, I will be out there running this week and I’m very excited to play a football game.

Q: Why is it so important for you to be out there with two games to go and nothing to play for?

A: Because at the end of the day, we started this year with the goal of going to the Super Bowl, but obviously that’s not going to happen. But at the end of the day, we got to be pros. We come to work to work. Every guy is probably injured in some way, somehow. We just got to be out there and play the game like we know how to play the game and rally around and have some fun. It’s all about fun and having fun, man. If you’re not having fun doing it, then there is no reason you should be in. So like I said, I’m ready to run around and have fun and go get some tackles and try to get a couple more sacks.

Q: Would your hand benefit with some rest?

A: Nah. It’s going to take a couple of weeks, but like I said man, there is no sympathy for me, man. I don’t care. I’m out there, I got a job to do and I’m going to do it.

during week 3 of preseason.
He deflected a pass by Hackenberg that looked like it blew his hand up. He looked like a terror in that game. Gotta believe its partly responsible for his quiet year. Of course the high potential of the hand to get reinjured was part of what made resigning him risky.
