49ers won't let JG walk....you could maybe ship our second rounder to San Fran as it's higher than pick they have up lol...maybe throw em a conditional 2019 pick. Then draft Barkley at 2 trade Eli and sign norwell...wow that's a fast turnaround, who knows if it works

So BB comes here,
CT Charlie : 1/5/2018 8:59 pm : link
and Eli invokes his no-trade clause. You think BB wants Eli as QB when he was hoping to dump Brady???

No. I think he wants Jimmy
This idea was proposed on Around the Horn yesterday...
KingBlue : 1/6/2018 7:21 am : link
I saw this suggested yesterday on Around the Horn as an intriguing possibility. Do the 49ers have the option to franchise JG? Isn't he a free agent?
Why does anyone think Garoppolo
Jay on the Island : 1/6/2018 10:18 am : link
Can just be had easily. Have you not been paying attention to the situation? Garoppolo was just acquired for an early 2nd round pick and then went undefeated with one of the worst teams in football. John Lynch loves him and he is looked at as the savior in SF. Acquiring him now would cost at least the 2nd overall pick plus more. JG isnít going anywhere.

Jay. Itís called Free Agency. Although the 49ers can franchise tag him
No compensation necessary

Yes, the 49ers acquired JG for a 2nd round pick, knowing full well they would need to sign him to an agreement in 2018 as he would become a free agent. The Giants can pursue JG, like any other team, without the need to compensate the 49ers.
I was just talking to some buddies about his same thing
Scott in Montreal : 1/6/2018 1:32 pm : link
I think it is a pipe dream and a whole lot would have to fall into place for this to happen but I would love to see this as improbable as it is.
