1. I wonder if he would REALLY want Eli as our QB next year after being around a very mobile QB for several years....With OBJ it will be Shape up or Ship out via trade...And if Eli is forced on him he will not be scared to bench him if the team continues to lose.
I want a coach who buys into the team vision.
will work with the GM in making that call. Obviously they will understand the discipline aspect from the interview as to what the Giants are looking for.
If those are the "best parts" of hiring him, we shouldn't hire him.
of benching a player, I wouldn't want them as a HC anyway.

Seriously. If that's the best part, that's depressing.
1) If he is hired it feels like it was preordained the moment DG was hired and 2) Hard for me to get a feel for a guy who took over (1 year only) for a guy who was good enough to get a HC himself. So for all we know the unit he coached was on autopilot off the last guys scheme.
Now, I am not against hiring him but I am worried. This team is currently a bad mix of players who shouldn't be there, players who don't want to be there and a few who have been there a LONG LONG time and may or may not be there going forward.
This hire will set us up or set us back for YEARS to come.
this brain fart really needed it’s own thread.
but I hope the new coach realizes that a plan w/ Eli at QB is neither a smart short term or long term plan
having an unproductive, immobile, innacurate and expensive QB whose best days are long gone isn't a good path towards regaining respectability
As HC. What does he truly bring to table?
So we have another statue QB who wears a brace on one knee, can not move away from a pass rush, and is closer to Kerry Collins than Eli Manning. Collins was accurate and threw the best spiral I ever saw. But you saw the results. Rosen also did not Play in his College team's bowl game due to financial considerations. ( the concussion was bullshit). This is the "team player" who will be on the DL before you know it and Webb will be in the game as our starter ANYWAY.
really don't care about posting some shitty takes, do they?
the ONLY way Eli stay more than his 1 yr left on his contract is he wins the SB next season. Otherwise he is allowed to leave unless he plays a GREATLY reduced salary. Even with a SB win I do not pay him "elite" money. Time to be forward thinking. Invest in the new OL, DL, LB, CB, RB, WR and S in that order

That was my first thought as well.

"Didn't play in his bowl game because of financial considerations?" Where did you get this from?

Other than seeing Rosen have a knee brace, have you actually watched Rosen play? If you had, you might actually have seen he is quite mobile in and around the pocket, several of his full game films showing him adeptly alluding the pass rush. He was also a highly regarded tennis player, who are known for nimble footwork.
