While i understand Wilks will be in here for an interview tomorrow and we have already met with the Coordinators from the Pats, dont we have to wait until the Pats are eliminated? I mean, dont we have to MAKE SURE that BB isnt going anywhere before we make our decision? I couldnt handle us making a swift decision and then Pats lose this weekend coming and bam come next week it comes out that BB is leaving NE.
What do you guys think? Do we make the decision ASAP or do we slow play it and see if any of this smoke from NE means fire? Do the Giants maybe already have a strong idea as to whether or not he is staying or going?
discuss....
If Gettleman promises to handle the draft himself, than he doesn't have to rush into things, but in a musical chairs world.....he could be left settling.
I look forward to see what everyone contributes on this.
Jon-
Thats my first reaction. I am sure they would get some kind of word or hear something that would make them feel confident in moving on and selecting one of the guys they interviewed.
A big part of Belichick's coaching philosophy revolves around creating an environment where winning is sustainable. Given his feelings for the Giants I think there's a good chance he'd leave something after his retirement (and who knows when that is...he shows no signs of slowing down) that would leave this organization in the best possible state.
If Belichick is open to coming here (we don't know, but John Mara might), then pull out the fucking stops and make it happen.
Ever hear of Joe Maddon & Rich Renteria ? Not exactly the same circumstance , but kind of. Epstein pulled a fast one . Giants need an organization-wide increase in speed , including in the front office and ownership levels. These guys are brain dead. DG seems like an All-American nut slicer. I’m glad they have him.
I agree. Have they actually interviewed Shurmur?
