Is Spagnola a Live Choice?

Rafflee : 1/11/2018 10:17 am
If "their guy" is a playoff coach...can they hire during playoff? What if that coach turns them down/goes elsewhere?...... with the Coaching Prospects comig off the board and committing elsewhere, Is SS a real possibility?

I think that would be a bad sign/outcome.... I don;t believe He should be a DC candidate either.
Who?

Spagnola is definitely out

Yes.

You can't hire a coach that is on a team actively playing.
Yes

I'm also hearing Collingsworth is a darkhorse.
another Spags thread? make it fucking stop.

one last time: if someone suggested SB winning DC Perry Fewell as HC, he would be roasted here and the board would go nuts.

So what is the fucking fascination with a guy who is 11-41 as a head coach with 5 of the worst defenses EVER on his resume' (yeah I know Spags apologists, none of them were his fault)
Only

went to Yale, I used to watch him at Yale Bowl when I was little.

From what I know he's alive, so sure he's be a live choice.

If Jason Whitten retired today,
Mr. Bungle : 1/11/2018 10:39 am : link
I'd hire him to coach tomorrow.

If I were the Giants I'd offer him a coaching contract just so he WOULD retire and not have to face him anymore :-)

I'd be weary of offering Whitten a contract. I think Irving would be a better choice.
You guys..
FatMan in Charlotte : 1/11/2018 10:48 am : link
think Mark Witten could cross over from baseball and be a better HC than Jason Whitten?
I like Spags ....
Beer Man : 1/11/2018 10:50 am : link
But the team is looking for a whole new direction in its coaching staff and front office. I would be surprised if anyone from the current coaching staff is still with the team next year, much less Spags as the HC. Maybe if his defense had dominated this year, but that wasn't the case.
Spags is the HC choice...

if the Giants want to seriously compete for the #1 pick in the 2019 draft.

But TE has been a big problem for the Giants for a while.

Solution: TE Coach Travis Beckhem

really have fired Macadoo or Reece?
I don't see Spags
clarkie02360 : 1/11/2018 2:02 pm : link
getting the top job, slim to none. He may end up staying at DC if McDaniels becomes the HC, but that's speculation on their past history.

Any idea what Francessa might have thought of him? I know everyone wants Bellichek, but we need to be realistic.
