"Michael Kay is reporting the #Yankees offered Yu Darvish a contract around seven years and $160 million. But when Darvish didn't accept within 48 hours, they pulled the deal."
Wow interesting if true, have to think they'd have to have a deal in place for ellsbury, gardner, or robertson if they were gonna go that route to stay under the luxury tax. Also Michael Kay, so have to take with a grain of salt...

Either way hard pass, Darvish isn’t a big game pitcher and we have enough in the pipeline to get us regular season wins.
Doesn't seem like a move they would be making right now. Between his age, his performance in the WS and their money situation. And I get the whole tactic but if they liked him that much and they really wanted him on the team on those terms, they wouldn't give him a 2 day deadline to sign.
Exactly what I thought. Sounds like some shit planted by an agent to grease the skids during a slow market.
Why the flock would the Yankees ever give him 7 years? 4 years, OK, 5 years...ehhh, maybe
Seems like a reasonable way to evaluate a guy.

So true.
That's a pretty strong slap at Kay by Darvish, and honorable. It's in YDs interest for people to THINK that the Yankees are interested and he still slapped it down. Kay is a dooshbag.
