may be the “safety school” of all the top candidates.
Patricia takes the Giants’ HC job if he can’t work out a deal with the Lions. Same with McDaniels and Shurmur in Indy and AZ respectively.
Rapoport thinks Wilks is going to return to Carolina. If true, one team is going to be caught with their pants down as these 3 guys are the only men in the running for these 4 jobs. It would be a colossal embarrassment if Mara hired Gettleman quickly in part to get a jump on the HC search (as he mentioned) and in the end, that team left standing when the music stops is the NYG.
One of the premier organizations in the NFL is not the safety school Â
I would think that for any one wanting to coach that the Giants would be the dream job over the other teams that have openings.
I'm sure the Giants are viewed as a great landing spot, but I don't the disparity between them and some other organizations is as wide as people (Giant fans) like to assume.
You gotta believe that Belichick is talking up the Giants org to him Â
the deal is done already.. Wilks dropped out of Colts more likely due to knowing that McDaniels was going there. He is no longer in contention with Gmen, though Gmen have not said it because he probably knows Patricia is the guy there. Shurmur headed to Arizona most likely.

So, who gets Detroit job? How about Mike VRabel!
Good points, but until DET hires someone that can’t be assumed.
Yes...Giants can entice with $$., but they're also still paying Mcadoo....quite a bit, I'm guessing. He has 2 years on his contract left. Giants can't be happy about that....the price you pay when you make a bad hire in the NFL.
If the Pats and Vikings move on in the playoffs, on Monday morning Â
may be the “safety school” of all the top candidates.

There was a report earlier that Patricia prefers the Giants over the Lions. Don't know where these writers get their info, so I don't know how truthful it is.
Andy in Boston: it’s only money. At least there is no cap on coaches. Â
may be the “safety school” of all the top candidates.
I've been silently afraid of this happening too. Time will tell.

This is something i'm afraid of too. (Sorry for the double post)
Done with their interviews and you can be sure that they already know who they want. They can not reveal that person because obviously whoever it is, is still coaching.
If you think the giants are going to be left with no one available, then I have a bridge to sell you. As a matter of fact I have 2 bridges!!
The insanity on here....smh!!
I could understand if there was reports that the people we were interested in were going other places (not speculation, but factual reports), then that would be something.
Every coach we have interviewed is still in play!!

Way too many fans on this site need to pull their Eli Manning bobble-head dolls out of their ass...
the delusion is thinking Eli is a turn off for coaches Â
and that Stafford and his 0 playoff wins is a draw.
The draw isn't really 37 year old Eli Manning. It's the #2 pick and they can select the QB they want. Drafting and developing a young QB buys time for a new HC. It also gives you the opportunity to select the QB who best fits the offense you want to run.
The Giants have not officially eliminated any candidates, but it's clear there are four left with legitimate chances at the head coaching job -- McDaniels, Patricia, Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, and Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. Patricia has received a lot of love inside the building, but the search is not to the point where anyone is considered a favorite. In fact, Shurmur is highly regarded inside the Giants' building, far more than people realize. As for Wilks, the respect GM Dave Gettleman has for him has gone a long way, and he's very much in the picture. This remains open, though a Vikings loss could force a Monday decision between Shurmur and Wilks

Gonna be this way until the Pats lose.

$$$$ can trump all of that though.
No one wants to lose at musical chairs, so someone will make a hire and declare that is who they wanted all along.

Lol yea. The New York Giants are the safety school for the colts, cardinals and lions. What world are we living in? What's up with some of you guys?
